Another leaky battery story. Repair?

When I first got into flashlights almost a year ago, I discovered the Jetbeam Jet 1-MK. So far, I’ve ordered about 10 of them this year and given many away. Unfortunately, the vendor also sends cheap AA Eco-Sensa batteries with them and I made the mistake of passing them on with the flashlights. My mother recently sent her first one back to me after a leaky battery corroded a decent part (20% ?) of the Jetbeam’s tube.

Is there any reasonable way to fix this or am I starting to collect parts at this point? The head still works as I switched it out with mine successfully.

For the time being, she has her new backup Jet 1-MK but if I can fix this one, I’d like to try it. So far, I’ve used Q-tips with alcohol with no luck. I can’t see any corrosion on the springs or below it, just on the tube itself in one area.

I’d appreciate any guidance, especially from those who’ve brought them back from the dead.

Thanks!

Joe
