Is the Sofirn (not host) that you have called C8F? I would be interested to hear anyone’s thoughts on that model, with it’s triple reflector.
I should be getting the ‘F by next week, acto the email notifications from the Post Orifice.
I doubt it’d have the throw of a single big-reflector C8, but the idea of trip XP-Gs is intriguing! Wonder if it’d be floody or throwy. Best of both worlds, or worst?
Never had a multi-reflector light, so this should definitely be interesting!

I know I should have picked XP-L HI. XP-L2 is domed so it’s not really a thrower in my opinion. Of course if it would be dedomed but why bother, I have gray Convoy C8 with XP-L HI led and that has also stainless bezel Edit: I have Sofirn C8A, that has XP-L2 led.
0K, don't blame on me much my pals, I just rechecked my conversation with Tracy Wan from Sofirn and I'm getting the C8T. Really sorry for this, it happened because I asked someone about and he told me “the C8F because of its uniqueness” or sort of. Got a bit messed up in my mind but now, in retrospect, I'm looking at it with better eyes. At least I know how to get a proper candela figure with my smartphone.
kotobuki, what's the MCPCB size for that C8F? The very reason I just noticed I'm getting a C8Turbo is because I was wondering how could it be that Tracy told me the MCPCB was 16.8mm on the C8T…
Cheers

I can see the new driver Tracy Wan told me about. The 8-pin SOIC thing and the small 3-pin stuff look like the MOSFET switches. Then there's the usual 10-pin microcontroller this OEM likes to use and an also unknown to me 5-pin whatever chunk of silicon at its left.

My Sofirn C8F arrived today, what picture do you like to see?
Any chance you could measure the spacing of the reflector? I’d like to know if it is compatible with any Noctigon triple MCPCBs. Also, would the triple reflector work in a Convoy C8 host?
For the photos, they’re too dark to see anything meaningful- just use one of your other flashlights to provide some better illumination during the shots.
Very funny. I did update some photos, is there anything else you would need Jason?
Nope, much better… I can actually see what you are referring to now. Thanks.
Massive triple MCPCB, looks to be ∅≈28mm, don’t you think?
I crushed my LEDs when re-assembled C8F!!! . Will post pictures tomorrow ….

Emitters are XP-G3, they’re listed as XP-G2 in their AliExpress ad (link is external). Custom request, kotobuki?
No, I didn’t request anything special, just paid and it came like that.

Just by looking at the picture of the triple MCPCB, I'd say the distance from the emitter centers to the MCPCB center is ≈8.75mm. With this in mind, the emitters would be at ≈12.3744mm from each other center to center (equilateral triangle side lenght).
kotobuki, ouch!
Well, if you're daring it may be a nice oportunity to reflow some more to your liking emitters. Do some math if choosing low Vf ones. If not, I'm pretty sure Sofirn/ThorFire can provide you with a new triple board for cheap.
Take care.

Barkuti: So am I right to say Thorfire C8S is made by Sofirn? Sure seems like it.
I add some photos of C8A also. It had also spring bypass in driver but like always I over react and made my own thicker too I don’t remember seeing it in switch spring. BTW: Also in host comes screws to attach led board in place.

Jouna, I believe both ThorFire and Sofirn are products from the same OEM with minor aesthetic differences. Examples: Sofirn SF30 and ThorFire TA13, Sofirn SF31 and ThorFire VG15S, etc.
kotobuki, if you are to reflow XP-L2 emitters on that triple you may aswell stack solder another 8-pin SOIC MOSFET on the driver and cream the Emisar D4's output records with the help of a Sony VTC5A or the newer Vapcell INR18650 2000mAh. LoL!

Ok, thanks Barkuti. Sofirn has a factory and CNC machines and Cissy has given me info that they do all of their ledlights by them selves. Maybe they do for Thorfire also. Doesn’t matter to me but knowledge is power

Yeah but lets avoid dropping another clanger kotobuki, you recently had some that's enough. Lets first make sure what is the lettering over that 8-pin chip and go Google it, can you help? I'll do it anyway once I get my C8T.

That Thorfire C8S sure looks lot like Sofirn C8S:
What size is the driver in that Thorfire C8S, anybody?
In Sofirn it’s that 20mm (20.8mm plate).
Edit: That driver Barkuti showed is from Sofirn AE shop. It is 18.8mm size.

Thanks for all the in-depth info and pics! One thing I was wondering, does a Convoy C8 battery tube screw into the C8F head?
Thanks for your idea:
