Beamshots of BLF Q8, MF01 Nichia (V2), HaikeLite MT03 CW
Lumens: MF01> MT03> Q8
Flood: MT03>MF01>Q8
Throw: Q8>MF01>MT03
UI (My personal thought): Q8>MT03>MF01 (I just don’t really like long hold it turn off…)
Size (small to big): Q8>MF01>MT03
CRI: MF01>Q8>MT03 (correct me if I’m wrong)
“Hotness” in my hand: MF01>Q8>MT03
Quick thoughts of each light:
BLF Q8: best UI and this thing spoiled me big times… the throw of it made it very useable for outdoor use.
MF01: provides good flood and good enough range with efficient high mode of 3000ish lumens, even the midium mode is more than enough for my normal usage.
MT03: Simple modes and handles heat the best out of all 3! Big flood that just lit up in front of you. And doesn’t really get hot on turbo thanks to its deep fins! Really like this light
Now.. all photos are taken with a phone camera, so the night quality isn’t the best, but it did capture the differences between the 3.
All on turbo and fully charged battery
Q8: Samsung 30Q BT
MF01: Sony VTC6
MT03: Sanyo (10A)
Q8:
MF01 Nichia:
MT03 CW:
mt 03 only use sanyo 10A, you wont get maximum power from those batteries
Forgot my pen
I have more 30Q and HG2 coming my way. But to my eyes I can’t really tell much of a difference in them when I swap batteries in them…
Good read. Thank you for taking the time to review the 3 lights. I will now order a mf01 nichia. My q8 nichia is stuck at the post office.
If you could only keep 1 light, which would it be?
If the MT03 was a NW I’m keeping that one. The high and turbo output can hold up for a long time and simple modes with ultra low mode. But too bad I have a CW…
So with these lights on hand, I would pick the Q8 for overall: Size, throw (more usable for far distance even though it has less max lux or lumens), decent or good enough flood and the UI advantage with programmable options.
