Only 22 amps per cell. There’s still 8 more amps to push.
Not really. Even the 30Q can only do 15A continuous and 20A in pulses according to HKJ. They tend to get pretty hot. Plus you get a lot of voltage sag. More batteries means less voltage sag and more lumens.

I think the Imalent DX80 has about the right battery to output levels. 8 x xhp70.2, 32,000 lumen and 8 × 18650. That’s 4,000 lumen at 5A from each emitter. It works pretty well.
Once you start going over that, like 11 of the xhp70.2 at 5A each, you need 12 cells. If you have 11 at 8A each, then 16 cells. This would be a practical use light I’m talking about. Not a 5 second wonder.
Imagine the GT with its 5.5” diameter head and a copper insert to load up 11 or 12 xhp70.2 using small reflectors. Then a special driver that can handle the power. It would probably be 2 drivers combined or stacked. That would be an awesome light. Now that the GT is shipping, I wonder who will be the first to mod it?
I think DBCUSTOM was talking about running 4 x xhp70.2 with each one in a C8 reflector. That would be cool.

Yes, that’s it. Pulses are fine. Melt my face off for a few glorious seconds.
There are batteries that can handle 20-25 amps , like VTC5A .
Mf-03 will probably take 8*18650 , from what i understand from the pics . If there are 2 carriers , in parallel , but each one is in 2S2P config , max current with 15amp batteries like 30q will be ~60amps .
If we forget that we have an xhp35 , and assume we have 8*xhp70.2 P2 , max output for the available current would be about 5900*8= 47.2k lumens . Not bad
See what led up to my comments before you judge me….then mind your own business.
sure am glad your staying away from here…
its been nice and quiet , thanks….

that is probably about the dumbest damn thing ive ever heard anyone say.
you ever seen dogs get in a real fight ?
dogs are harmony and grace ? lol !
man, what a fruitcake…..
I have to consider the source from someone as ignorant, unrealistic and uneducated as you!
i hear you have went on a vacation ?
hope your enjoying yourself…
they gave you fair warning, and you still got banned after that ?
tell me again who’s ignorant ?
lol…man oh man….unreal…
enjoy…
Be careful making it too floody that annoys people when the lights shining into their houses or cars. Unless using it in not so populated area, else it will sure annoy neighbors.
It is cool to us, but annoying to others especially when the lights flood so widely.
I think a lot of you guys completely missed the point of the discussion I was trying to get started. I simply threw the Storm of Ra into this thread, because someone mentioned building a thrower with XHP70.2. I wanted to show that it is possible to build a flashlight that throws far with an XHP70.2 in it. I know the Storm of Ra’s build quality is the best, but it is a working light that has bigger throw than the former throw king, the TN42.
I think maybe we can incorporate some of what those guys did with the Storm of Ra, into the MF03?
I don’t know about all of you but I would love to have a flashlight that can output great lumens, has active cooling and throws far. If I have to pay more for quality, I really don’t mind, as long as the built quality, specs, and most importantly, the performance is there.
Did anyone say 2-mile long distance throw with 8000 lumens in the beam? I can always dream.
lemax already makes your dream light
called the super -70
2 mile throw, 7500 lumens, weighs 8 lbs
oh yeah, and its only 2500 bucks
What is real and what is a render on these pictures?
The flashlights can not lay over each other in that way. The Flags and the Cap are not real.
The desk and the room are real and perhaps the hand and the green flashlight.

It all looks real to me. Carefully check the shadows and light sources. I see no signs of any rendering.
Keep in mind that these are not flashlights, these are empty hosts. They should be able to lay on each other like that with no problems.

Dude, these are just real pictures. Are you learning photoshop recently?
After looking at these pictures and then staring at my GT and holding it, which I like very much Is the MF03 battery carrier tube 8 or 12 cell? Because 12 would be awesome! Sorry, overkill I know. Being a little more serious now, will the MF03 be offered in that cool bark green color with the black bezel? This is going to be one amazing illuminator isn’t it!!!

I’m guessing those lights are coming out real soon cause the wait is killing me. I like the looks so far. I’ve been holding items around the house trying to get a perspective on the tubes diameter. But alas I don’t think his hands are Texas sized because by the time I get the grip to match the pictures, I’m into quad set up well past a thick tube with 18650’s. Would be nice in 20700/21700 format but probably just a dream.

6S/2P battery carrier would make very good regulated Buck drivers possible, there are very powerful buck chips availiable and pretty awesome inductors
So you want all 11 xhp70.2 to do 8 amps and 5700 lumen?
That’s 88 amps at 7.3 volts. That’s 22 amps per cell! I think you’d need more cells, maybe 12 or 16.

Will the battery tube / carriers allow for a “Double Dong” a.k.a. “Darth Maul” configuration?
