CRX Brass Zoomie Nichia 319A 16340 EXII

Another wee build for your viewing pleasure today, following on from the EXI triple mule build.

I  made a 16340 zoomie to go with it.

Nichia 319A SM505 emitter
20mm KD DTP MCPCB
17mm 3A 7135 driver

Glass aspheric
Soldered MCPCB, pill & driver
Reverse clicky tail switch
Cyan glow details

Length – 84 mm
Width – 22 mm

Some internal pics showing friction ring, brass stopper rings etc

 Closed position

Opened, focused position & tail

This light is a side loader, the sliding drawer performs two functions, cell replacement and zoom function.

The change of colour from brass to black on the cell carrier near the switch denotes where the maximum zoom position is, so you pull out the tail unit until the line is level with the main body and that is where the emitter is focused as seen below.

Like a normal push pull zoomie it has a rubber o-ring for friction as seen above.

How it works

The set

Some comparison pics

Very nice CRX. Love the novel idea of side loading the battery. Thumbs Up

Thanks mate. It made the light a little longer doing it that way but worked out well.

Nice build CRX!
The 319A Hex’s tint looks nice under glass.
I need to be more kind to them, less and regulated current. Facepalm

I was wary of the combination as I had read the glass lenses were not as good as the plastic and first time using one but the beam is good, you can detect a small colour shift in the centre when zoomed out shining on a white wall but would never notice in real use.
