Mod zoom flashlight

Hi

i have modified a zoom flashlight this is the link for the model :

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/x2000-flood-to-throw-zooming-glass-optics-cree-p4-wc-led-flashlight-1-18650-14450

i have changed the led for a XR-E R2 (bin) WH tint

and i have changed the circuit driver for a 1300mAh circuit.

Brightness is Incroyable the zoom is for a very long distance....very a good modding for me. Over 1.5 hrs none-stop runtime with one 18650.

a person with your nickname, i'd expect some beamshots ;)

I'd also like to see an X2000 with an XR-E R2 driven at 1.4A. I suppose one day I will have to grab my old X2000 and just do it myself.

i just thought supply would have more than caught up with demand by now, especially with the xm-l being such a success. the q5s, for example are virtually a dime a dozen now. maybe there will be some with r2's soon.

How far is the throw with the new driver.

I have a Cree Q5 that is driven at about .85 amps and would love to see it with a turbo mode of 1.5 amps..........

Can your Torch throw 300 to 400 meters?

I tried a 1.7 amp driver in my X2000 and the clicky switch went poof.

I have an R2 P-60 drop in with an aspherical lens driven at 1amp mounted on my mini 30 and you can clearly see a target through the 3-9x40 scope in the pitch dark at 300 yards.

All this talk about over driven XREs has me wanting to bump it up to 1.7 amps, but realistically 300 yards is the max range on a 7.62 x 39 with a short barrel.

Nice shot!! Good stock!!! Carbon color have always the place for weapon!!! Yeah!

So i prefer a Zoom flashlight because it's hard to have a good throw with a little reflector flashlight ...the throw is very good but certainly not over a throw zoom....

I don't have time now to take a couples of shots of my X2000 1400mAh R2....but probably more chance next week...for beamshots.

Ha! I thought you marksmen could get 1 mile out of those rifles like on the Movie "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg.

Shows how little I know about hi powered rifles - eh ?

Well- I know those are some kind of special round and sniper rifles are a different thing , right?

And I want a nice little aspheric thrower that will do 500 yards.

There's a thread on here somewhere with an OK Reflector/Thrower with a stock Cree Q5 at 1.7 amps that seems fine according to user but I guess 1.5 is safer unless it's an R2 -those can I think be driven harder and also get brighter at higher currents according to Cree specs- I'm definitely no expert on this.........

the cartridge used in marky mark's rifle is on the left (50 BMG), the cartridge for a mini-30 is the green one, third from the right (7.62x39)

I have bullet envy now, thanks dthrckt.

Thanks from me also dthrckt ! Wow- what a slug !

I don't even own a gun but I'd like to someday go to a rifle range and try a few of those super long range rounds- IF they even let rank amateurs touch them !

I did shoot target practice with a Winchester with .22 long as a teen a few times.

I really like that Mark Wahlberg movie- it is cool to see that bullet in your post - and I've been told there are people who can do amazing marksmanship feats with these- and they probably have depleted Uranium shells with even higher power, right ?

I'm just hoping for a cool aspheric torch that will do 400 yards, but those faster than sound projectiles are very cool- as long as they are in the right hands of course.

I have bullet envy now, thanks dthrckt.

actually, the 7.62x39 is probably my favorite round (I own 4 rifles chambered for it). (edit: actually, 22lr is my favorite, but 7.62x39 is a close second.) It is adequate for thin skinned large game, and as cheap as anything out there except rimfire ammunition. IOW, you can buy enough for the zombie apocalypse, even on a budget. I bet it is responsible for stopping a lot more 'enemies' than the 50BMG...

unless zombies start driving armored vehicles, you should be all set w/ that mini-30 ;)

22 LR is everyones favorite bullet
