Soshine TC8, aka??

Does anyone recognize this Soshine light

There is also an 18650 version called the TC7. I can’t imagine that this isn’t a Soshine branded version of a light available under other brands, but I haven’t found the others yet.

So, does anyone recognize it by another name?

Not offhand.

looks like a convoy L2 to me?

It is reminiscent of the L2, but definitely a different light with the USB port and other differing details.

Maybe ultrafire has one like this?

Nice host, possibly.

Nice found, 62mm head, no blinkies in main modes, could be a nice thrower!
I have some spare points so might give it a try for under 15$….

I found the same light in an AliExpress shop.

As it happens, I happened to order a different light from the same seller a couple of weeks ago. They gave me a ePacket tracking code 11 days ago and it still isn’t recognized by any tracking system. I’ve complained and so far, they’ve given my the run around. Not happy with them at all. Plus, they are charging more than Banggood.

In any case, I’ll be curious to see a teardown if anyone gets one of these before I do.

Looks like a nice host… But I hope that horrible wide thingy under the tailcap is removable. Looks really uncomfortable to hold the light with it. Why would they put it there? What’s the reason?

That’s a “tactical ring”, in case you want to use a cigar-hold (battery-tube between index/middle fingers, activate the switch with your thumb).

Cumbersome, if you ask me. Downright oppressive with a heavier light.

Hey, some people like all that crap on their lights. Tac-ring, clip, lanyard, am/fm antenna, rain deflector, you name it. Ghastly…

I see, thanks. Never seen such a big ugly one like that. I guess it would kind of make sense if it was a tail switch only light but it has dual switch. If someone gets one, please check if it can be removed easily.

I know, I know… I hate those ugly-ass things, too.

Guess they intend it to be that you set the mode via the side-switch, and then just flick it on/off with the tail-switch.

Unless it’s glued on or torqued so tight as to torture the threads, it has to be removable, else instead of a nice slim tube they’d have to use a thick block of Al to machine the thing.

It’s just a rubber tactical ring and should be easy to remove :+1:

Rubber? How do you know? Would be nice though. I’d have guessed at least hard plastic, looks a little more like plastic in that first photo.

Just zoom in and you will see it’s a rubber
