This is my second one to go up in smoke and I’m just curious. I didn’t see a repair forum, so the powers that be can move this post.
Similar to the first one, which Richard replaced for me a couple of years back. This one might have run a bit too long on turbo.
I can’t get the brass ring off, so I’m stuck there and the LED board is glued in place.
Black bits fell out of the hole, which I think are the ‘covering’ for the resistor/nuke plant inside.
Just curious as to whether the driver board, which is no doubt fried, can be replaced. I can solder, but I’m a hack and don’t have all the smaller tools to take it apart (spanners, fine point soldering tips, etc.)
