"Sofirn currently not impressive" [Slow shipping transit from China]

So the start of last month I spent about $50 on lights through aliexpress, was meant to take a couple weeks or so it say’s. Haven’t gotten anything yet. I don’t know if this is normal or what but really unimpressed. Hope they arrive sometime this new year. Bought the SD03, SF01A, SP32A, and C8.

You ordered from a budget Chinese supplier and expected 2-week delivery? During the holidays?

Usually I expect at least 4-week ship time to receive anything from China.

You lot lucky. Here in Aust. we expect a minimum of 6 weeks Normally.
This time of yr. Unless you pay extra for Aust mail Reg’d. It can be 8 weeks plus.
I just pay the $4ish per delivery mail. and get a signature for it. with shorter time.
Recently (Christmas??) I have several items not delivered. and refunded or second items sent.

Out of all the orders I made on 11/11, only 1 arrived
Out of all ebay overseas purchases I made end of November, nothing arrived yet

This time of the year, unfortunately, this is normal. I checked with last years’ record I kept and it appears slower.

well, let’s wait and see…

I’m still waiting for items from the middle of November. OTOH some December ones are here already. The longest-travelling item took like 10-11 weeks to reach me.

Dang that’s a long time, must be a QLD thing. I don’t order as often as many people but most of my orders from China are ~21 days, except from Ali which is a tad longer and BG is usually slightly faster. My last order from BG took a total of 9 days, but the order before that I was getting worried about as it took 4 weeks.

you should change the topics title to Chinese shipment not impressive or if you know which service was used that particular one

I know there were some things not right with some lights designed poor or quality issues, but most of their lights turn out to be good ones

I’m talking very start of the month but I’ll keep waiting. I just know it said a minimum of two weeks when I checked out.

Lately, some things from AliExpress are taking a lot of time to arrive!
I was almost going to open a refund process with Simon from Convoy (always in communication with him of course), because the time for the products to arrive was taking longer than usual. It turns out that a week or two later the products arrived.

Also, I had another object that took more than 3 months to arrive at my home! Ordered in the beginning of September it arrived in the middle of December.

From Sofirn, I order one thing on 18th november and another friend here on BLF ordered in the same date. Mine arrived 2 weeks earlier, and still it took a month to arrive!
The end of the year is quite difficult it seems, be patient and wait some more time Wink
Ordering from AliExpress is quite different from ordering from Amazon!! Both in shipping time and in prices, or course Facepalm

So, I’m with Lexel on this one:

Sofirn was slow when i ordered stuff from their ali xpress site this summer . With the holidays it’s going to take longer than you think it will .My impression of Sofirn is they are solid as a rock and you have no reason to worry …relax it will be a while Smile

I usually get items from GearBest and Banggood to Australia in 2 to 5 weeks via standard shipping.

The stuff I ordered at the beginning of November hasn’t arrived yet either.

BTW, this isn’t a Sofirn-specific issue.

On topic, which is really a misnomer as stated above, I ordered a sofirn c8f on 12/16/17, through their amazon storefront. It’s coming tomorrow, via UPS. 13 business days, or 17 calendar days.

Better than banggood, dealextreme, aliexpress, kaidomain, and internationaloutdoor. Each of those others were 20-30 days in the past few months.

It’ll probably show up soon. I ordered a C8A on 12/1. It was delivered (Seattle) 12/23.

It’s a mixed bag especially if you do the freebie shipping option.

For example I ordered 3 nitecore tubes in November, one is here two are somewhere in between. After xmas I ordered a couple of copper A01’s and they came in yesterday. No rhyme or reason to it that I can see.

Forgot if it was the SF32Ws or SP10Bs, but I did one order and then another, only 2 days apart. First one came in like 2wks, the other over a month.

Depends if they catch the earlier barge or have to wait for the next one.

Realising it’s not on your list, the SF36W looks good. Just how I like single 18650 torches to look.

Yep, same shape as the Thorfire VG10 (my fave) and VG10S (meh..), only a nice WW.

The SF31W tubelight is sooooooooo nice, though. Nice WW but a great beam. Wider hotspot, nicely blurred, no nasty artifacts, perfect for late-night (moonlight) and even everyday use.

Think that was the one where I saw they had like 6 left, ordered 2, then said screw it I’m getting more and ordered 2 more. I just ain’t gonna get caught without one! Big Smile

Ain’t the brightest light out there, <1000lm, but I still smirk when I see the nice warm light shining on whatever.

Received both the SF10B and C8F today, ordered on 18 Dec and I’m in Canada. I think it’s relevantly fast with the holiday season.

They Sofirn C8 host I ordered on 11/11 (with ePacket shipping) finally arrived in the States and should be delivered this week… Two months later. But to be fair, I think the original shipment got lost and it had to be resent.

I wish the title of this thread were changed.

Instead of “Sofirn currently not impressive” it should be “Aliexpress shipping not impressive”.

As-is, the title is misleading. It suggests that flashlights themselves are not good, which is not the case.

I am learning patience. And today it has been rewarded :) Just received my DT70 and a Zanflare F1. Its 11am here so I have a fair old wait before darkness. These took a little over a month to get here from China over the Xmas period, so I am happy with that. I still have 7 items outstanding (mostly batteries) but the DT70 was the one I was waiting for. I checked this morning and as far as I could tell it was still stuck in Poland :)

Anyway this has given my confidence in GB and BG a big lift.

This Zanflare F1 is very nice, good packaging, nice tint, just a bit ringy.

Bonum commune communitatis.

Yarp.

So my light came in today. Key word is light, not lights. The SF01A. This light’s good and tiny. Perfect in case the lights go out but not powerful at all. The button’s got a nice solid press on it and it feels good in the hand. Well worth the little money that one was worth. Good for the use I had for it. Still waiting on the others.

Like others have said, change the title. Glad to see something came in from (Aliexpress).

Since you’re in the USA always check amazon first for Sofirn. They FBA some of there models there: https://www.amazon.com/Sofirn+flashlight

Prices are higher than Aliexpress but check this thread for the discount codes: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/54768
.

Also as suggested, please change the title of this thread! it’s really not fair to Sofirn, it would only be their fault if they delayed in the order processing time. Once it leaves their hands it’s out of their control. Remember these need to go through customs and some packages could be delayed for random inspection.
.

Sofirn has embraced the community here and actually listens. That and their products are impressive.

Sofirn is a good brand. Can not blame then for slow shipping once the item leaves their store. Please change your title. My amazon prime Sofirn orders were all delivered in two days. Peace.
