The size was a turn off for me also.
I have a Husky w/ me every hike and would not want to lug the GT around,It throws ~ 300 yards further than my TK61vn V4, The size difference is a deterrent and would make it impractical for my uses.

the tk61vn4 throws 1550 meters, and thats being gracious, if it actually has the lux OTHERS have reported
the BLF GT throws 2260 meters, all day long, not breaking a sweat, not even warm.

The tk61 is not even in the same league as the GT.
Might be time to retire that OLD tk61…getting a tad weak in its old age ! :weary:

You must have a weak one! Mine was tested at 1800 lumen/770Kcd/1754m/1918yds. 
The GT performs well but it is waaaaay too big and heavy for practical use…at least what I use it for.
READ the OP’S reason for selling his after having it a very short time. REASON: TOO BULKY.
The ONLY reason it out throws the TK61vnV4 is because it is so much larger. Most of these lights have the technology,it is a matter of increasing the head/reflector and improving the overall optics.
I prefer the V4 any day of the week.
So many people buy these Searchlights and say WOW! They do not use them every day like I do.

You do not know the WHOLE story b/w me and NO DOUBT! It runs deeper than the light and is ALWAYS started by him!
This[yours] is a milder case…but when people jump into other conversations it can sometimes start unnecessary bickering when those opinions should have been left out to begin with especially when they do not know all the facts, both past and present.

plus the beam of the GT is much broader barrel of usable light, un like the pencil beam of the tk61.
i ve got 2 GT lights ,and use them every night
