What would you like to see happen in 2018?

Each new year brings us new lights with increased performance, better UI, charging capabilities, new leds, new drivers, copper or ti versions… and 2017 was no exception - Emisar D4, BLF Q8, Aspire 18350 cells, 21700 cells… just to mention some notable events.

So… what would you like to see happen in 2018?

USB programmable UI or even programming app via Bluetooth from phone.

Emisar D7. Maybe the Noctigon monster…

Besides more awesome lights, I would like to see a bigger led being used. I want something bigger than the XHP70, so something roughly 50% longer and 50% wider for about twice the surface/lumens. So about 8000 lumens without over driving from a single emitter.

Active cooling

BLF zoomie with collar.
Good 21700 XHP70.2 angle light.
BLF Zebra beater.
XHP35.2 HI (6V, more efficient, not flip chip)

Budget soda can lights hitting over 20k lumens with a nice BLF UI.

The return of control rings.

Triple or quad XP right angle light.

+1

A light like the Imalent DX80 (or any high output ligh really) that could sustain turbo output for the life of the batteries would make me happy.

How about some 2200K floody lights and lanterns? Good for simulating candlelight in close quarters, like during a power outage at home or in a camping tent.

How about something completely out of the norm. Start out with the center reflector housing 4 XHP35 hi’s for throw and on the outer rim of the reflector another shallow reflector with 4 XHP70’s for flood. Throw and flood all in one and powered by 6 18650 cells. 8000 lumens in the center and 12000 lumens on the side :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: Or maybe a quad mini XHP35 hi light just a bit bigger than a C8 with a big copper heat sink :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:  . BLF has the best thrower now how about the smallest brightest flooder :sunglasses:

1) Lights you can program by holding the lens up to a laptop/tablet/smartphone screen.

2) BLF headlamp - maybe the Emisar ramping UI in a L or T shaped body with triple 90CRI Nichia? I know this is achievable with mods but:
a) Power of BLF would reduce cost of a complete product vs ordering parts separately and,
b) I work abroad on rotations and my soldering iron hasn’t been fired up in about a year :frowning:

3) Some mods/customs with the Luminous CFT-90.

Thorfire TK15S with single frequency strobe and choice of tints.
USB programmable lights
18650 tube light with sensible output, tail switch, momentary on all modes including strobe, and programmable frequency single frequency strobe.

Sounds good to me.

On your first point, I would like to see a BLF version of the acebeam x80 with 12*CREE XHP50.2 and 25,000 Lumens, great UI and good build quality for around $100.

I would also love to see a 26650 powered BLF quad that can match the D4 but with better cooling and runtime.

I’m on board with the warm k lanterns!

I would like to see a particular politician behind bars...

That's right, I'm talking about you Grover Cleveland!

Serving two non-consecutive terms in office just makes things confusing.

water-cooled flashlight

I want more lights like the DX80. Acebeam would be my choice of manufacturer if to embark on this path.

Zoomie with auxiliary flood LED. So I can get dual-beam like with a reflector light, but adjustable from pointy to wide and I can get no-spill thin beam for seeing far.

Batteries with higher energy density.

For a moment I thought you were talkin about Hillz.

I would like to see a good breakdown comparison sheet of Convoy models.

A reliable and affordable approved shipping method for all batteries

A reliable “combine orders into one package” option on the main vendors, to reduce handling fees at local post offices.

A unique new BLF special that gets me as interested as the Q8, at a similar price (Giggles was a bit out of reach)

Oh, and an end to the career of not just one, but any and all politicians with orange comb-overs would be nice

Solarforce’s comeback.
