Great looking light at DX

Sorry if this is a repost. I couldn't find any existing threads by searching. Has anyone ordered this light yet? Also comes in titanium color. 58mm head diameter and weighs in at over a pound! Gobs of finning for thermal dissipation.

Dimensions: 9.84 in x 2.28 in x 2.28 in (25.0 cm x 5.8 cm x 5.8 cm)
Weight: 16.40 oz (465 g)

nice noname torch!!

"CREE" sounds actually pretty cool .. because any flashaholic knows the name "Cree", haha :D

465g is probably shipped weight.

I posted that some weeks ago.

Wait, I will try to find the thread here at BLF

I thought I remembered seeing it here which is why I searched in the first place. I should have just searched through all of your posts to find it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was just checking that out this morning. If they hadn't been so stingy w/ knurling, and had made it 1 or 2 cells, I'd have ordered and been ok w/ resolving an issue or two, but as it is, i'll let somebody else try first:)

edit; love the fins, want to see more like this...

I found it!

That is probably built by Ultrafire. Called Ultrafire D1, they usually print CREE.

Loongsun LX-9012 is clearly branded and has no CREE logo on it.

I suspect its a bit of a blue or purple ray gun given that its listed as 8000K color temp., about as cool a tint as it ever gets.

I do love the look of it though.

Nice looking light…too bad about the 8000k temp…

For an extreme thrower I'm thinking the cooler the emitter colour, the better it will light in the distance. You can always change out the emitter with a different tint/bin.

I would agree, and daylight color reproduction is definitely less important (to me) in a thrower...though there is a limit to that...
