So I shaved the dome on an xhp50.2 kd dtp board in my ultrafire u-f19, with fx-30 driver.
Now the xhp50.2 takes 5amps just fine with dome on no probs! However after shaving the dome the top starts to smoke and starts going black! I suspect it's because the layer left off from the dome is now burning because it's so thin right? If I clean it up looks fine! Will it stop smoking eventually and clean up or ? Is it possible to dedome it alltogether with gas?
It’s not burning up cause it’s a very thin layer, small pieces of dust or crap can cause burns.
Also when you’ve cut the dome but the cut isn’t very clean, meaning it has a rough surface or consists of multiple cuts, it will soak too much heat and burn.
