BLF and CPF administrators-I am not looking for brownie points.

I just wanted to contact CPF and ask why can I not post images in a flashlight review. It is 99.9% impossible to ask CPF administrator a question. I really value that our BLF administrator is easily reached for a question if needed. Thank you sb56637.
Sincerely,

If you post something over there they don’t like they’ll be in contact with you real fast.

Why can’t you post pictures in a ‘flashlight review’?

I post pictures in regular threads all of the time.

Except for a couple of ‘curse’ words I let slip in, I’ve never had photos edited out and I have a lot of posts over there.

Chris

I think he meant he was having trouble uploading photos on the post and needed help.

Yep, sb is super friendly and easy to communicate with.

I would hate to be an administrator as I am not a people-raccoon.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure.

I used to use PhotoBucket, but they monetized and now I use Flickr, with some URL trimming, which works fine.

Chris

Buttt you could possibly be the cutest admin ever! Plus the only racoon admin in the world.

I have no idea why I can not post flashlight images on CPF. It is just not worth the trouble to find out why.

What hosting service do you now use?

IMGUR, Flickr? If it’s PhotoBucket, you can’t post the URL to a 3rd party site any longer, unless you pay them for the privilege.

Post a picture here from your hosting service and let me see if I can post it over there.

Now it’s a mystery.

Chris

From Flickr.

Right click on your photo, paste the link over on CPF in the text window and add: at the end and then hit preview and see if it shows up.

Don’t use the photo icon button above the text window.

I got your photo to show up in a reply to a random thread just a minute ago.

When I use Flickr, I use the BBCode URL, out of the four and just trim off the other gibberish, so I don’t get the ‘Chris Garrett/hosted by Flickr’ crud that comes with the BBCode link.

Chris

Yea you have to use BBcode on CPF on here we use Embedded code both website are run on different software.

I tried inserting a photo on a review I posted last December. I posted the link. Please have a look at what happened. I have to be calling it a day for me now. I really appreciate your help Chris and will work on it more tomorrow. Thank’s Jim.

Thanks. :+1:

You need to copy just the the middle of the link that starts with https and ends with .jpg.

There are two strings that start with https, but you need the one ending in .jpg and then add the tags.

You’ll see what I’m talking about, if you look at your review on CPF that you linked. You can go back and edit them.

Once you get the hang of what to look for, it’s easy as spit, but Flickr doesn’t make it easy.

I posted your picture with the middle part of your link, here, using the picture icon and it works. Over there, you just want to add the [img] tags and be done with it.

Chris

Another CPF problem solved on BLF!

CPF? People still go there? Wonders never cease.

I DIPSTIX in both sites quite frequently.

Maybe you could post your review (including photos) here on BLF then go over to CPF and say hey there is a good review with pictures over at BLF …… And while you are there tell em how good of a forum it is here !!!

Then enjoy being banned from there …. Simples!
