The one I received last month overcharges.

My home Lii units pump up to these voltages when set to 4.2V li-ion:

  • Lii-100 Mk1: 4.22V.
  • Lii-202: 4.14 and 4.16V.

Furthermore, my Lii-202 fills up Ni-MH cells significantly more than the old Lii-100 Mk1.

^^^ Do you think final voltage is also dependent on type of cell and internal resistance?

The maximum cut-off voltage of each charging rail can be directly read over it when the charger is in CV mode, which is easily caused on purpose by attaching some high resistance in series with a cell like alligator clamps with magnets. Actual maximum resting voltage will be somewhat below this value depending on termination current and rail to cell total resistance.

How do you tell if you have an Mk1 or some other version?

Also, is 4.22V cell’s resting voltage right after you’ve removed it from the charger? Or voltage while still charging?

Looks like this one and was bought on April 1st 2016, Pete7874. It's Big Smile vintage!

After removal from the rail plus a tiny bit of resting. Some would say it technically overcharges.

Nice find Barkuti….

Wondering myself how this one goes about it’s business, would like some quality chargers for those occasions I give away a light. Smile

My MAHA dedicated NiMH chargers have two charging rates for NiMH cells, standard and soft charge. Standard charge rate is 2000mA, one has 100mA soft charge while the other is 300mA, both are 8 bay chargers. The other day I was getting ready for a wedding, charging cells for my flash units… I had 5 of the 8 bay chargers going full out. These 2 MAHA’s and 2 Enova Li-Ion/NiMH with another Gyrfalcon also loaded. After the cells were done, I took my 2 sets of premium cells for two flash units and conditioned them in the MAHA chargers.

So my primary cells were charged, charged again, discharged, then charged again. I took 868 photo’s on my 1st set of 4 and my wife took 1025 photo’s also on her first set of 4… neither of us got into the second set. That’s some serious work from the Pro level NiMH LSD cells! (FWIW, we didn’t change the camera battery either)

To have a small single bay charger that works well, easily used anywhere… from a battery bank or solar panel or the car or whatever… this could come in quite handy.

Indeed. I bought mine for the sliders and case.

Still thinking about exactly what I’m going to do with it.

These will be great chargers to give away with a light you are Gifting to someone.

Will have to wait until the price drops.
Which could happen tomorrow Smile

I have news:

Congratulations! Charger displays actual flowing current.

Where did you got that new old stock right now?

Note: displayed current value is function of voltage drop and sense resistor values, which are implemented on the microcontroller unit's software. Bear this in mind for sense resistor mods to change current output, as the displayed current values won't change unless the sense resistor variable value is poked in the software.

If, for example, you 4x the sense resistor value (nice for small cells like 10440s) you need to divide by 4 the displayed current value. No big deal though.

Cheers Big Smile

Gearbest still sells them… https://www.gearbest.com/chargers/pp_272183.html

Often for $0.99 and free shipping with coupon.

Pete7874, I've bought more Lii-100s from GearBest than I personally need (like a lot of you), but only my first unit looked ”vintage”. The ziplock plastic bag was even removed from the package in the last unit I received (still another one Big Smile to go).

Cheers Party

P.S.: $0.99? LoL! I've got a couple $1.99 sales maybe. Now that you say this, could it be that these $0.99 units are new old stock they are getting rid of?

How can you tell between old and new? Mine came in cardboard box, exactly the same black/yellow style as Nitecore.

Mmmkay hIKARInoob, does it looks like the one in HKJ's review? If so, it's an old revision.

Cheers

But if that’s “old revision”, then what does the “new revision” look like?

Or are you just saying that Lii-S1 is the new revision?

Mine look like this: https://www.gearbest.com/chargers/pp_272183.html
The 4 percentages on the left is like the shape of a battery. Mine were purchased November 15th last year. $0.99 was related to singles day I guess.

Oh, I see it now. Thanks for pointing that out.

In that case, mine are not vintage. Crying
