yes, most/the best deals are in a week from now. careful, there are two different SKUs for this S1 charger, the other one says 2.39$ but I presume that will only be for the power supply, not the actual charger. This single SKU listing is for the charger. the price is too good to be true, tbh, but let’s see whether they will deliver on this deal.

I ordered one from Banggood for $6.99. I probably could have gotten one cheaper, but I’ve had good luck buying from them over the past couple of years. To me it’s worth the extra few dollars I spent.

There is also a coupon for 1$ off on minimum 3$ purchase for 50 AE coins.

I can not guarantee this deal will work and won’t change, just giving the heads up on this thread. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong location.

Just bumping this back up. I have a couple in my cart, but know I’ll miss it if I’m not reminded. Thanks FPV

It says the Anniversary Sale starts March 28th, but what time? Midnight in China?

I don’t know if it helps, but a new Aliexpress “business day” on my app is 9am PST. That is when new points become available (for checking in), I can water the tree again and also catch the worm so they won’t harm the tree. Coupons also become available.
Please note that the US are on DST already, RoW not yet.

Yeah, so that would be midnight Beijing time.

don’t want to spoil your party, but this price, it seems like, is not for liitokala s1 battery charger, it is obviously for some liitokala mobile phone usb charger which is 2.99$ and will be 2.80$ on action day or 2.39$ on mobile app…

That might be true and I suspect you could be right. But then they would have to add that item in the linked listing.
2.39$ for the sale price is the other listing (and this might only be the usb power supply). If the listing remains as it is, it could be a falsely priced item. Maybe they will stick to this deal, maybe they won’t. Or maybe the entire listing will disappear.

we’ll see…i am game too! numbers are good, -65% from 7.99$ is exactly 2.80$…

What makes you think that? The page clearly states it’s for the S1 charger.

The older version of this charger (Lii-100) could be had for $0.99 when on sale, so the $2.80 sale price for this newer version is still almost 3x the price of the old one.

The drawback I see is the battery bank function is gone and price went up.

wstrachan, the Lii-S1 is not replacing the Lii-100, if you prefer to have a so so powerbank function get a Lii-100.

With the Lii-S1 they've added polarity detection, this ontop of rail resistances likely rules out any chances for a powerbank function to work right.

i don’t know, but those times of crazy deals are long gone either on aliexpress or gearbest…prices went up for most things and discounts are pathetic…but, at the end maybe price will stay at the 2.80$, we’ll see…

and what is the main selling point of this charger anyway? Cash

Let’s hope it at least does not overcharge cells like the Lii-100 did. Smile

i am still in nimh only aa/aaa camp, but since some of mine flashlights are using 14500 as well, it’s a good push forward…and down the road i will consider some more powerful lion batteries and flashlights…so, decent 1 channel charger could be just the ticket for my needs… Wink

It's a peculiarity. My home country's postal service (Correos) came to some sort of agreement with chinese logistics company Sinotrans, thus trackable and relatively fast shipping is available to us for cheap to nothing (AliExpress Saver/AliExpress Standard). May raise the price a little with very inexpensive items.

In such a case I'd say it's a resounding yes. No reviews of it yet, though.

yes, lack of reviews, either by users or hkj is hard to explain? i don’t know exactly how long is ls-1 on the market but i think it is long enough to see some impressions at least…but, hey, if it’s really 2.80$ we will survive in the name of science to check is it any good Grad Party

Congratulations! Charger displays actual flowing current.

Cheers Smile

Also ordered one of the Lii-S1 to check out.

But sorry to burst the bubble, it does NOT display actual flowing current, it only shows the selected current (0.50A or 1.00A).
Real-time voltage is shown.

Also, the unit I got overcharges slightly to 4.23v (tested battery right after “Full” is displayed).
(Lii-S1 shows 4.20v Full, but the DMM shows 4.23v.)

Eg. toggled current from 0.50A to 1.00A (current display only shows either 0.50A or 1.00A)

Termination current seems a bit high, EBD-USB records around .30A before it dropped to 0.05A and the Lii-S1 shows “Full”. (the 0.30A would include the power consumed by the charger unit itself, so assuming it uses 0.05A, then that’s still 0.25A current for charging. I only tested charging a nearly fully-charged battery though, so my result may not be representative yet of actual use.

Going by the first post date, and the Amazon listing, this thing only appeared at the beginning of February, so it is still relatively new.

For the sale price, the risk is low, so I added a couple to my cart.

I’d still be willing to take the risk at closer to the normal price of $7-10, but I’d order it from Amazon instead. The extra couple of bucks is more than worth it to not have to wait for it to ship from Asia (only to have the USPS sit on it for a week, and then send it a few hundred miles in the wrong direction, like they’ve done with the light I currently have in transit). Plus, delivery within a couple days, and covered by Amazon’s return policy.

And if folks will forgive me from straying a bit, I’m thinking about also joining the “500” club and ordering one of them during the AE sale.

But, picking through the many listings is a chore, and one still can’t be certain that it is the desired item. I’ve ordered from AE before, and know how the listings and descriptions can be all over the place, but those were simple items.

However, this is for one item, with three options (full packge, with adapter, bare), inside one seller’s store! Some listings give the option to choose a plug, others don’t, but without specifying which is included. Shipping method (standard, ePacket) is easier to discern, but the prices are also a crapshoot.

Any tips on “which” Lii-500 listing to choose? Obviously, a ~$20 charger being pictured in a $5 listing won’t result in a happy outcome, but anything else? Does the plug style need to be specified in the note to the buyer with the order, similar to ordering from the Convoy store?

If it only shows selected current instead of real/flowing current I am not sure I want this charger. What would be the point in showing the current I selected? I already know that information Big Smile

Since I bought plenty of LI-100 when they were at .99 I am on the fence now. Thanks for sharing that test, d_t_a

My review is nearly done, but I was trying some new testing and damaged the charger, before I was finished (My fault, not the charger). I have got a new one a few days ago and will finish the review soon.
