Could somebody on the team define “part east europe” ? What countries should pay the 20$ extra fee? I hope they do not send with DHL in there, customs and extra dhl taxes are as high as the light itself Thank you

I asked for clarification on this a few times but they just said to have anyone in east Europe contact them before ordering.

Send “Neal” a message on here and he should be able to tell you.

Then it will depend on your location. Locations that will get DHL shipping it should arrive within a week of it shipping. Areas that will need to use registered mail will take longer obviously.

I’m living in France and prefer registered mail. Is there a way to have this instead of DHL ?
I’m fine with the real value on the box(es).

See above post, I would send a message to Neal about this. I really have no idea.

Is DHL shipping used by default for shipping to continental US? Because I ordered, payed, donated but it just crossed my mind I never saw shipping options.Just overlooked it I guess.

The PM was professional and the directions were clear.  The transaction went flawlessly.

Neil followed up with a nice email and everything went through very smoothly.

Thanks to the GT Team who made this all possible

Does anyone know what the expected shipping time to USA is?

There is no hard estimate but I am guessing around 3 weeks, maybe a little longer to the US. If it is quicker then great!

There is not a choice for shipping method this time, that cause far too many issues last time.

Yes, the US should be getting DHL.

I also had the “(link is external)” problem…I have already PM’d TA. And while I wasn’t dying with anticipation for the first message because I had firmly placed myself in patience mode. Realizing that these things take time and things go wrong. All that is out the window…at 1061 I’m on the edge of my seat.

just barging in on Tejasandre’s curiosity I thought maybe this list would help.

1. To keep yourself from wetting your BGP’s (big girl panties) when camping and there is a thump in the dark.
2. When you absolutely and truly must know if that really is a big buck on the other side of the field on the other side of the other side of the farther over neighbors field.
3. To verify that your neighbor a couple blocks away is actually looking at the stars with his telescope…not through your window.
4. As a challenge to the Luxor?
5. To make sure your drunk friends don’t fall on top of you while stumbling about in the dark.
6. To make cow tipping just that much easier.
7. Make it easier to capture wetbacks crossing the Rio Grande.
8. Prevent ICE from catching you as you cross the Rio Grande.
9. (adolescent) Keeping it aimed at the door to your room…leaving you time to put your magazine away should your mother enter unannounced.
10. An excellent means to call the cops…at least equal to 911 in any major city.
11. Related to 10 this is also an excellent educational aid that will likely teach you about “civil forfeiture.”
12. Make it that much harder for the cops to follow your stupid drunk ass in a high speed chase…and add 10 years to life to your sentence.
13. And certainly not the last…but the last here…to make absolutely certain that when you do see Bigfoot…he’ll have to blindly pause just long enough for you to get that selfie.

And by the time I got done woolgathering it arrived…paid and trying desperately to get back in patience mode………… … …

I just wanna SHINE!

So can you go back and order the other misc items at any time? Funds ran low so I wanted to make sure I donated first, which I did.

A few minutes ago I sent Neal a PM asking if there is any news about the short tube I bought two weeks ago and the eight 35E that I bought with the GT that was not shipped.

The last PM I sent him was a week ago and he didn’t answer.

I hope he is not on radio silence.

Sorry for my bad English (gogole transtorla)

Sadly, it is too late to order for it was closed.  However you can purchase them at retail price.  They closed the opportunity a while ago.

Sadly the GB is closed now but in the OP you will find a link for the public sale of this light, there are only 50 lights available at the moment for the public.

If you read back through the threads, you'll see that there were holidays and other things that has kept Neil off the grid for a bit.  From what I have seen he is doing everything possible to catch up on all the things that demanded his attention.

Patience is a virtue.

You can order then later although the prices will be a little higher if they are not purchased and shipped with the GT.

Yes, you should get an email at some point with details on how to get the discounted price. With the inrush of GB sales we are all overwhelmed so it might take a few days.

Here's how I can see one way in using the Giga Thrower

Being a pilot, I fly day and/or night.  One night I was on final approach into a county airport and while on descent someone turned off the runway and taxiway lights. yell The airport was basically blacked out.  Being experienced and prepared, I grabbed my 6 D cell Maglite, (it being incandescent) which was the cats meow back then, out of my flight bag and shined it out the cockpit to light the runway.  My altitude was 400 feet and dropping fast and my light caught 3 deer on the runway.  As soon as they saw the light hit the runway from my Maglite, they b-lined into the trees.  I didn't have to abort the landing and was able to see the landing strip and land without any incidence. While the Maglite did ok in getting me down, the GT would have really been the light to have if it had existed back then.

You can rest assured that the Giga Thrower will always be in my flight bag.

PS.  The reason that the landing runway lights went out was due to the local police shutting them off because they thought that my plane was smuggling in contraband/drugs.  I filed a a complaint against them and those involved were dismissed from the police force for reckless endangerment of life.

But I will say that the police thought they had something when I basically landed a twin engine with an incandescent flashlight.  The officer commented to me that he never saw anything like it. tongue-out

I have other uses for the GT that I will post here but let's hear from you too.

LOL, good story^

Neal wanted me to remind people that if you order the GT bag + Cap you will get a strap with it already, you do not need to purchase another strap separately unless you want to.

LOL yes, I almost ordered the extra strap and then realized that I would be able to use the one on the bag.  Great that you mentioned this although the price that he is asking for the extra strap is not unreasonable at all.

Hot Dang! Ordered. Thanks, guys!

Is it okay to do a separate transaction for a donation? Because I missed it when I placed my order.

I’ll second that. $875 divided among 10 people, for over a year’s worth of organising? I’m sure we can do better than that!

One share alone isn’t enough for all of the work some of the volunteers have done in a single day. It is appreciated.

Been wracking my brain trying to think of something witty to say. Other than I’ll probably frighten the neighbors with it, I got nuttin.
There’s a nice open field off one side of my back yard with some structures off in the distance just begging to be lit up and compared to my other lights. I cant wait to do that.

Ordered pretty much one of everything…except the donations, ordered more of those Smile You guys certainly do deserve it.

#1235 - Ordered, Paid, Donated, Replied to Neil's email with ID and phone number.

Again, many thanks to everyone's work involved. You all went well above and beyond with the GT.

I don't recommend doing this but has anyone noticed how bright and bigger looking animals eyes seem to be when the GT is lighting them up? It actually made me feel bad after I did it to a herd of whitetail deer but I had to leave it on them for a few seconds just to be sure it wasn't a fluke. They really looked a lot brighter/bigger than ever before. In PA we are allowed to drive around with a spotlight looking for them until 11PM. Its something I don't usually do but I was out testing the GT and couldn't resist on the way home. With the GT I won't shine any of them that are too close anymore.

There might be a little problem with donations.
I donated 10 initially but only one was taken.
Went back today to retry and only one dollar was going to be taken again in paypal.
So went back to the page and 3 dollars were showing up in cart, corrected this and success on the third occasion.
Ordered all the items in the initial transaction, and looking forward so much to recording them.
Thanks for the privilege.
