What does not suit you Polish. Every time you write negatively about Poland. “do not send to Poland” “enter Poland into the list of countries to which parcels should not be sent”, etc. Do you have any problem with the Polish?
Pardon, I assume shipping to Poland is very expensive which is why they were shipped as two registered packages instead of one DHL box. I also assume its harder to get through customs.
The same as shipping to South Africa, Brasil, Egypt, etc… Certain countries are expensive and/or difficult to ship to.
Also, I have never said anything negative about Poland. Maybe you have me confused with someone else.
Last days I recived pack from Haikelite.
I ordered 3 MT09R and few other things ( size bigger than GT ).
They send my order by DHL and I didn’t pay anything for shipping. DHL take care about customs, and only customer pay fees.
So I suppose that the biggest problem is not the price of shipping to Poland but resistant approach of Lumintop.
That is what I thing.
You are forgetting one very important detail, the MT09R has a large profit margin, the GT at the group buy price had virtually zero profit margin.
You paid for shipping, it was simply built into the price of the light.
As the saying goes “there is no such thing as a free lunch”.
That said it is no excuse for Lumintop not having dealt with these issues already.
Hey TA, could you talk to lumintop boss about making an extension? 12 cells or 16 cells version. Thanks.
It was brought up before but they didn’t really bite.
It is possible they could make a rin to allow you to connect a short tube to the end of the normal tube but I am not sure if the total length will be correct to still press the carriers against the driver properly.
Does anyone know? I don’t have a short tube myself, I always thought they were silly on a light this size.
At 2450 meters of throw make sure you buy a good pair of binoculars to see whats down there……. I was using a TN42 VN in a Texas hunt and spoted a Coyote…… 700 yards away in total darkness, saw his eye balls blinking…….. Then Bam…… So the GT or the GT 70 should be good for this……
Please add me to the list with issues : I ordered 2 GTs, short tube, bag, shoulder strap and 2 cover caps. Received everything except one cap ( received one cap instead of two ).
No big issue, no complain ( ), I already sent an email to Neal asking if he could ship another cap with the snail mail.
The GT measures a bit less at the further distance. Interesting.
Crees emitter bins have a tolerance of 14%. So you can have the exact same bin and at 2000 lumen 14% would be 280 lumen.
So you could measure one D4 1A at 1860 lumen and another D4 1A at 2140 lumen. This is the outer limits of their tolerance, but still in spec.
Emitter tolerances might be playing a small role in the different lux readings, another would be the little bit of extra amperage the MF04S is giving. I think 0.2A (2.5A vs 2.7A)
I think the MF04 reflector is just a couple mm bigger, not much at all. Maybe that is also a very small factor.

IIRC the MF04 was around 10mm larger, which is fairly significant. They might also be using an E2 bin emitter.
Plus I have noticed that XHP35’s vary widely in performance compared to many other cree LED’s. They really seem to stress the tolerance limits of the bin more then most.
Hardusvd70, your using good batteries in the GT, right? Something like 30Q or 35E?
I know Panny B and protected cells will drop the GT out of regulation pretty quick with just 4 of them.
It looks like the GT has been bested. Astrolux’s driver must be making that led scream for mercy! Lol
Yes indeed I use Samsung Q30 and also Sony VTC6 batteries for my flashlights. I did use these batteries in both flashlights. Did test over different distances. For me the Astrolux is the better thrower.
Because it measures turbo a tiny bit higher? You can’t even see that difference with your eyes. I would have to evaluate both lights as a whole and on many other factors to say which is better overall.
—
Texas Ace Lumen Tube and JoshK Sphere calibrated with Maukka lights
I was told Sony VTC6 are the best for boost driver or FET.
There are a lot of high drain cells that are all pretty close to each other. If you look a HJK’s comparator you see the VTC6 and 30Q are pretty much the same, even at 15A.
For heavy loads it seems the general rule is you want the less voltage drop for the particular load you are running to get the most power.
FET drivers are a bit unique because turbo is direct drive. So you really need to match the battery to the emitters voltage characteristics. A VTC6 might burn up the certain led, while a 35E high capacity might not. So you have to get the right combo.

From July 7th.
It is only Monday. Leo should hopefully be contacting you guys this week.
Earlier today Neal was checking some of the names I posted in my list. Chito is a new one that popped up last week.
The fact Neal was asking about him is a good sign. Maybe Leo asked Neal for Chito’s info?
I try to be optimistic they will get things sorted.

BLF GT CW vs Astrolux MF04 CW
Lux reading at 10 meter throw distance.
Both flashlights with 1A D4 bin emitters.
Hardusvd70
Makes sense, the MF04 has a larger reflector.
Dang it be ugly though, but then I think the short tube on the GT is ugly as well (although not quite as bad lol).

Mf04 xhp 35 have 200 more lumen than blf gt xhp35.. so it is true..
Did you measure 200 more or 300 more?

Comparing both of the CW lights I get:
MF04 – 1.36mcd and 1.36mcd
GT – 1.23mcd (10m) and 1.15mcd (25m)
