Test/review of Sanyo UR18650WX 1500mAh (Red)

Sanyo UR18650WX 1500mAh (Red)

Official specifications:

  • Rated capacity: Min. 1500mAh

  • Typical Capacity: 1600mAh

  • Nominal voltage: 3.7V

  • Standard charge: CC-CV, 1050mA, 4.20V

  • Temperature: Charge: 0°C ~ 45°C, Discharge: –20°C ~ 60°C, Storage: –20°C ~ 50°C

This battery is rated as a super high draing battery (This is some years ago).

The curves tracks perfectly. The battery is only rated for 10A, but works fine at 20A with very little capacity loss.

Due to the very short discharge time I do not really see much heating.

Conclusion

This battery can deliver very impressive currents, but compared to modern batteries the capacity is way too low.

Vapcell told me that I was missing some cells in my comparator and they would be happy to supply them.

Thanks, as always, for doing such work to produce such thorough reviews for us! I do think it’s a bit silly of Vapcell to care about this cell. But, it doesn’t hurt having the info available in the comparator, since someone may still own and use these cells, I guess.

I do not know it Vapcell is selling this cell or just have access to it, but they have supplied me with lot of older cells. I like getting more cells in the comparator, even old cell.
