26650 thrower ?

My friend have borrowed my U21 and he like it but the U21 seem to be discontinued, so before i go off on my own quest to find a good 1 × 26560 thrower i better ask in here so i dont cheat myself.

price would be good if it was not over the top.

So what you got of ideas for us ??

I like my Convoy L2, and my KDIY K5s. The L2 seems to have more distance, but the K5s has a lot of spill and a LOT of light.

I’ve been considering trying a K6 (http://kaidomain.com/p/S027308.KDIY-K6-Cree-XHP35-HD-White-6500K-2600-Lu...LED-Flashlight-Black), but I don’t really need any more throwers. And it’s only a little less expensive than the Manker.

The L2 is the ultimate thrower, a nice tight pencil-beam, but if you don’t mind modding, the F13 is quite good. Nice deep reflector, lots more pockettable, and you can get pretty good 22mm drivers for it.

I have L2 and UT-02.
L2 is a better thrower…but it’s just a thrower. UT-02 is overall a great light.
Frankly I can recommend both, depending on one’s needs.

I like my UT02 a lot. Very good light.

On the other hand, depending on needs, the UF-1504 could be a very good option.

Look what Thrunite got coming: Catapult V6. Almost identical light but with more output. And with 20% preorder discount, so it’s actually just 60 dollars.

If you want *+REAL +*throw out of a relative compact, 1 × 26650 light look no further: Amutorch group buy BLF

Assuming the output is the same as it’s predecessor, if will have at least 200Kcd throw and with a little modding (spring bypass, if need be replacing the wires) up to 260Kcd.
And it looks bloody good, too!

Cheers,
Nico

The UTorch UT02 is virtually an exact replica of the U21, cheaper too.

A friend sent me a prototype light that is yet to be identified, looks like the U21/UT02 but with some fancier inlays on the tube and fins in the head. I pulled the XHP-35 in favor of an XP-L HI and put ToyKeeper’s Anduril firmware on a scratch built driver and it’s awesome! Smile Wish I knew who made this one…

Edit: FWIW, this copy of the UT02 is pulling 6.39A at the tail and it’s making 1745 lumens from the XP-L V3 3A HI emitter, 211Kcd throw.

I vote for the thrunite catapult v6.. use the code v6 and it came out to $59.99. Free 26650 battery is included. I have thrunite light before and the driver is bulletproof.. thrunite make excellent light.

I dont know what ut02 is.. maybe u2 = manker u22 ? U22 is rated 509 meters and thrunite v6 is rated 750 meters..

Manker make good light so thrunite too..

You cant go wrong with v6 for $60 which also came with free 26650.. good luck..

If it has to be a thrower as compact as possible the Thrunite Catapult V6 would be my first choice.
Up to 195.000 cd with Imalent battery, 187.500 with Thrunite battery.
Reflector diameter is only 50 mm.
Around 60$ or 50€ is cheap, by the way.

You can link to pictures elsewhere, but you cant upload pics directly to the forum.

Use the insert image option when you post

In the normal reply screen, click the 7th button from the left, looks like a small photo of a sunset. (B, I, U, S, link, film strip, insert image) It’s a good idea to use the “Optional Relative Width “ to size your picture to fit the screen it’s being viewed on, this keeps the smart phone people happy. You can use 100 or lower, as you wish, which applies to the actual screen it’s being viewed on… someone at their desk with a large monitor sees a larger picture but fit to their 1920 monitor, say, while someone on a smart phone sees the full size picture at say 350 pixels, still filling their “monitor” but not overlapping and causing issues with scrolling the page.

I’ll usually upload a reduced size picture to a place like Image Shack, then when I go to port it over to BLF I use the 1600×1200 link. When posting in here I fill both the top section and bottom section with the link and then use either 100% or 50%, whatever, so it’s viewed to match their screen… by filling in the bottom section with the link it can be clicked on to view in a new window at full size (or the 1600×1200, whatever you chose… smaller size helps to preserve bandwidth for our Admin. Wink )

Machine finish clear anodized Convoy L2, 1600×1200 served here at 100%…

Same pic served here at 45%…

Same pic again, this time shared full sized but with a 25% control when sharing, clicking it opens a new window to see it as it was uploaded to the sharing site. Click on this one and the resulting image in a new window will be able to again be clicked for a 100% view showing detail. More bandwidth consumed and slower to open pages, so very many full sized images like this one will seriously impair the threads ability to open.

So as you can see, it reduces or sizes the image to fit the screen being viewed on, with a click on image link to the original 1600×1200 photo that was shared. Wink

(This is a good 26650 thrower, by the way.) Wink

That full sized pic is wreaking havoc on my own internet and it’s only half size (downsized to 3456×2304) from my old pro body Canon, a mere 16MP camera. (My newer Canon is 30MP)

I’ll remove that one if/when y’all say so…..
