ThorFire Cree XP-L2 TK15 At Amazon $8.96

I don’t Know anything about this light but whats in the description, But I think it’s got to be worth $8.96 with free shipping if your a prime member. The stated price is $12.80. In the ad there is a 30% off coupon, click redeem and add item to cart. The 30% off doesn’t show up until you get to the payment option page.

I don’t know much either, but from a quick search of the site, it looks like it came out in the summer of 2017, along with its sibling, the TK15s (has a tail switch + different UI).

Great deal for $8.96~

Ahem, I just fell off the wagon. Again. That is a no-brainer, even with €6.38 shipping to The Netherlands.

Edit: ordered.

I think you’re right. I don’t need another light, but….

That is a Thorfire TK15, similar to the Sofirn SP32A.

Don’t forget to grab that 30% off coupon. :+1:

Ordered. THANKS!

As if I needed another flashlight… you guys are a bad influence and a detriment to my wallet.

Yeah, this irresistible deal thing has happened to me twice today. This one and beam0’s Nitenumen deal.

I need to watch TV or something, this forum is costing me a small fortune. :person_facepalming:

I’ll let you know. They contacted me to review one and it’s supposed to be here in 2 days (my prime had lapsed and didn’t know it at the time)

I ordered one for the price. Appreciate everyone posting these deals lately. Lots of great lights the sf36 is becoming one of my favorites. A fet driver swap and it’s about perfect. Already has a great tint

Which driver did you use?

I have one and it’s a nice light. The main things I don’t like about it is that 1) it turns on too easily if carried in the pocket of my jeans, 2) if I lock it out the light starts up with slow and constant blinks in either moonlight or normal mode depending on a short/long press of the switch (an additional click stops the blinking), and 3) the scalloped bezel is hard on my pockets even when using the clip.

I did a water test by submerging it in a bowl of water after putting it into the freezer with the tail cap off for 15 minutes (to make the air denser inside before screwing the tail cap back on). A few bubbles appeared where the bezel screws into the head almost immediately after I submerged it but it the innards were dry when I took it out of the bowl.

To test how impact resistant it is I dropped it several times from chest high at different angles onto a marble floor with a battery inside of it. I didn’t see any external damage and it worked perfectly fine afterwards.

The TK15 is more like the SP32. The TK15s has a ramping UI, like the Sofirn SP32a, but unlike the Sofirn, it also has a tail switch.

Hey all, does anyone care to share this elusive coupon code? For some reason it doesn’t show-up on my pay screen.
Thanks

It looks like the promo code has expired. It’s no longer showing.

I like mine. But lately it’s taken to suddenly flashing slowly on occasion, not the strobe or the two blinks per second of low voltage. I turn it off and back on and it’s okay.

Mine does this when the tail cap is unscrewed from the body and then tightened again for battery changes or physical lockouts. I assume it’s just a feature of the light. Does it happen on yours without lockout or battery changes?

It hasn’t happened often enough to determine a correlation. The next time it happens, I’ll check to be sure all parts of the tube are tight.

The tail cap is a little scratchy when loosened or tightened. Should I be putting some kind of lubricant on it?

I’ve got one 2 weeks ago - $11.80 CDN. Right at the start it went slow blinky. Sometimes after a day locked out, sometimes after a night sleep. Erratic behavior. Then sometimes as I click lightly on the bottom half of the switch it may not respond or jump to strobe. That part I attributed to intermittent switch contact. Just figured the switch is cocked against the metal button.

And yes the crenelated bezel is sharp. I do like the beam and tint. Was gonna get a second one but dropped the idea as a little wonky.

Good buy though. Will use on my bike.

Interesting that the light blinks slowly even without breaking contact with the tail cap and body. I wonder if the tail cap is barely making contact with the body? Mine only goes into blinky mode after I lock it out and then only once.

Regarding the scratchy tail cap thoroughly cleaning the threads and then applying a bit of lube or oil should take care of that.
