Carrying a baseball bat in a car is fine , just make sure it’s sitting with a baseball & gloves / stumps or whatever. Wink

Quite agree, too many snowflakes everwhere, is happening on all forums.

Id be in, but sadly in the UK something like this would be fround upon.
So its a 6 cell mag light for me and you can always legally carry a couple of spare d cell batteries for it too, keep them in a long sock to stop then shorting out in your coat pocket Wink Big Smile

Why in a country were you can legally purchase and carry a handgun would you want to defend yourself with a club?

Because you can legally purchase one doesn’t mean you can legally carry it. My state has open carry law as long as the firearm is visible and not pointed at anyone you can go anywhere in public with it. Except stores that have a notice saying no weapons aloud.

Most states don’t have a open carry law. To be able to carry it you have to get a concealed carry permit.
Also in my state you can ride with it legally loaded with one in the chamber. But the next state over 20 mins away the laws differ. It has to be a 3 step process meaning, the pistol can be up front, the bullets and magazine have to be in a separate compartment such as the trunk. You have to get the pistol then retrieve the magazine then load it. Every state has different laws. Some states can’t even have it in your vehicle besides going hunting or etc and they have to be put in a certain way and unloaded. America isn’t the wild west as people think. There are more then enough gun laws in place. When I bought my guns from the sports store. They won’t let you have the gun and bullets together. At the counter if your looking at the fire arm and want to look at the bullets it uses you have to hand the fire arm back before they give you the ammo. And you can purchase them together. But they escort you to the register then escort you to the door. Then hand you your purchase as your going outside After a back ground check of course they take your driver license and run it through a federal database. Takes about 20 minutes.

Blf has changed a lot since I've been here. Lots of snow flakes and easily offended over nothing. When the forum use to be great and people joked around and could take a joke. It's a forum it's not that serious. Let's make BLF great again!

Reminds me of a story when I was in the Marines there was this pog (non infantry mos) he had never been in a fight was kinda smaller and short. Maybe 5foot 4 120lbs. This one guy kept picking on him and picking on him would go up and just *itch slap him and call it the hand of justice. When he would get bored he would say it’s hand of justice time. One day we were on deck alone and the guy maybe 5 foot 10 160lbs cornered him by the lockers. He was going in his locker. He took his lock and baseball threw it into the guys face from like 1 foot away. And that’s all the poor kid got in. He got the snot beat out of him. When he tried throwing the guy off the 3rd story stairs onto the concrete below that’s when we stepped in and stopped it. People do stupid stuff when their young and a testosterone fueled environment. It’s kinda like school or jail. Even if you know you’ll probably lose fight anyway and they’ll respect you afterwards and so will everyone else and you’ll get left alone after because everyone knows you’ll fight and won’t be such a easy target. Now watching 2 infantry guys who are trained to fight and kill go at it is very entertaining. It’s kinda like UFC but with no referee. To become a black belt with red stripes in the Marines you have to take 2 or 3 guys at the same time. Depending on the level and it’s a real fight. I’m not joking when I say any Marine mcmap instructor could take on anyone in the UFC easily. The Marines developed their own Martial arts. They took bits and pieces from every martial art out there and combined it. No fancy moves just stuff that works. Whether it’s to disable the enemy or snap their neck and move to the next guy. To really rank up in infantry you have to move up in your mcmap belts. But your story brings back memories. If you ever seen full metal jacket, soap in a sock works doesn’t leave many external bruises and it does happen. A bar of soap is pretty much like metal it’s not going to break no matter how hard you hit someone with it. But I never saw anyone get beat in bootcamp that didn’t deserve it. Everyone messes up a few times and the whole platoon gets smoked for it. The di do it on purpose. And that’s alright But there’s always a few guys that constantly mess up day in and out and get everyone messed up. Just like the movie, they get their act together afterwards minus killing the di and committing suicide

Either you have to walk around carrying this baseball-bat-looking item (which is problematic if you are not at an actual baseball field as it appears you are looking for a confrontation) or you have to go get it out to “defend” yourself (at which time you could just leave and not engage the fight).

Both of these situations are not legally favorable for the carrier in the US. Maybe things are different in Europe.

It does look cool. But carrying a baseball bat around in your hand for “self defense” is a bad idea for more than one reason. Just my opinion of course.

You must live in a very safe area. The sold purpose of batlight is form of lighting. Just happens to be a defensive tool if needed for defense. Primary use is lighting.

Major cities like Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles and bigger cities have higher crime rates. If you can not carry firearm the next best thing is baton which is a flashlight.

I will invest in project if anyone can do project.

I like the idea…

A real Self-Defense flashlight!

I have this one, the X-110 (not a zoomie) I prefer it over the “bat” style, it’s more of a “Billy Club”:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ45vS-e9rw

v v It’s very heavy and has an extremely thick tube! v v

.
It’s slightly over a foot long (13.5”):

.

.
It’s a copy/clone of the 4×18650 Solarforce Gladiator: (or as Foy called it: “ass-whoopin’ stick”)
http://budgetlightforum.com/node/13129

It looks like you can still get the Solarforce:
https://www.solarforceflashlight-sales.com/products/solarforce-gladiator...

.

The clone/X-110 has been off the market and was nowhere to be found for a long time, however it recently resurfaced by Brett trading on Aliexpress
(Now called the X-119)…

I have been in communication with Brett, I could attempt to find out the possibilities of the factory making a Special Edition. I’m looking into modding mine.
It’s 2× 18650 with some type of a dummy cell spacer that takes up the length of the 3rd and 4th cells, it uses a Drop-in similar to a P60.

Or we could try talking to Solarforce, since the Gladiator uses an actual P60.

I missed the X110 after you gave me heads up. Someone beat me to it.

I contacted Solarforce directly about purchasing all parts needed to build Gladiator. Their customer service is really crappy. They did not answer or acknowledge my e mails for further purchase information. I really want 1 but will not shell out money to company that does not care to reply to simple requests.

Hmm that’s been awhile, exactly what happened? The link was still working earlier tonight when I posted here, it’s very strange but suddenly the link is not working now! I’ll message them and try to get an answer, unless you already know more?

Solarforce was very slow responding but they have replied to my messages before, not sure what’s going on but I agree, I was planning on buying a few hosts but I’m also going to see if I can establish communication before I send any money.

Using 4×18650’s you could run a 12v XHP35, XHP50/70 or 4×3v LED’s (Quad on a copper pill/optic) wired in series.

Like the bat dbcustom shared. Will look into a purchase. Agree about the snowflakes man. The mindless, blabber spewing, slack jawed, knuckle draggers have infiltrated everywhere. Just make sure to wear a black baseball cap and dark clothes with “SECURITY” written on your back. No one’s gonna feel suspicious about it then. Wink

Man, reading about you guys in the UK…. I can’t believe your ability to defend your own life, and the life of your loved ones, is so strictly regulated! I read an article last month about a man in London that confronted 2 intruders in his home, had a struggle with one, and stabbed the bad guy with the BAD GUY’S OWN screw driver. The OWNER OF THE HOUSE WAS ARRESTED FOR MURDER Facepalm Facepalm Facepalm

You guys need to quit voting in politicians that make their citizens unarmed, helpless victims! [End rant]

When my wife and I were just dating, and she was living alone, I bought her this…

https://buy.taser.com/products/taser-strikelight

It has 2 areas that arch and it’s really loud. The light output isn’t anything great, but it works for walking around the neighborhood with the dog. It has a separate button on the bottom for the taser function, so no one would know it’s anything but a flashlight until you had to use it. I took it apart a long time ago trying to upgrade the LED, but I couldn’t figure it out (I also didn’t want to ruin a +$100 light).

My wife now carries this in her purse Big Smile Thumbs Up

These SHENYU bats the OP linked look better than a lot of the others I’ve seen, I can see why they’re selling well. I’ve seen these re-branded and priced around $50-$60. It looks like they do have a very thick tube, but I wonder if they maintain that thickness in the front half section? And the 36cm also is available with 1*18650, interesting looking “dummy cell“spacer, I’m curious what its function is since the AA version runs on 3* AA.

Anyone have one of these SHENYU models?

Very thick walled (5mm):………………………………………………………..And nice knurling for grip:

It’s not just the UK or Europe. It’s also like that in Canada too.

It never used to be like that, and constitutionally it shouldn’t be. But over many decades, rights are slowly taken away, usually to great applause by the people. Once those rights are gone, they’re gone forever. No government or police force is going to give back rights of self-defense.

Just take a look at many of the recent “hate speech” laws introduced in Canada and other western countries. The government/justice system takes an extremely broad view of what is “hate”, and it has essentially removed any right to free speech. This has happened in just a few years. And, most importantly, it has happened with great cheering from the population.

We seem to love removing rights, because we always think it’s someone else’s rights that we’re removing. And I’ve never seen a government that didn’t go along with removing rights that the population is asking for.

Not sure where in Europe OP lives but in my country using this would not go well. I envy US guys that can defend their family and property just by shooting scumbags there on spot if they brake in and are a threat, if I even hurt the bastard he can sue me for everything + I am facing a jail time for threatening someone’s life, stupid law makers = stupid laws.
Only thing I can use is stun “gun” wich are mostly toys and pepper spray.

I’m sorry, whilst a little of what you have written is correct most of it is completely incorrect. There is no justification for a Policeman to stop you carrying or using any size/power of flashlight, unless as you rightly say it is primarily designed as a weapon or you are out in the country hunting deer or something equally illegal – if you were out in a van in the country late at night they may well tell you off, but I see no reason they would take it off you unless they found other ‘poaching’ equipment. there is NO law saying you can’t carry a big torch, and as such they cannot remove it from you unless you are doing silly things with it. You would probably get a warning if that was the case.

I was walking around at night with a C8 and I was stopped and the police were friendly and asked me about it. I wasn’t in trouble but they did think that it was eye catching and strange.

I also like the tone of the thread. Its a shame that citizens are not allowed to carry weapons around as if you are an enemy of the state by having something as simple as a tool (knife in UK for instance, they are trying to ban those too).

I do have to note that the US has a problem with school shootings getting a lot of attention. As weapons were banned before, it seemed to have cut down on these kinds of shootings, but our concern should be the ones that affect more people rather than such a small problem. One example is that I have no problem with transgender people, but I think their coverage is disproportionate to other issues, and because its so polarizing (like the hate speech law that was put in by law makers to look good) it turns them into an easy target for conservatives to attack.

OP, I think this is not a good idea. We don’t want BLF to be associated with a ‘weapon light’. Its known for making specialized high power and specific use lights (which may be weapon light I suppose) but it puts performance or light usage over a secondary purpose.

I disagree, BLF can be associated with ALL flashlights, no matter what style.

A lot of posts about carrying these around or in your car etc. What about home use? These are also (and possibly mainly) good for a home defense tool.

Well, yeah, that’s exactly it. You are an enemy of the State, because the State arrogates to itself exclusive use of force. Peasants are not allowed to defend themselves.

I’d disagree with you here. We don’t have a problem with school shootings. Only a handful in, well, pretty much all of US history, isn’t technically a problem.

It’s like having the “problem” of drunk driving, then setting out to ban all cars. Sure, quite a few innocent people are killed by drunks behind the wheel, but not so many as to justify the 99.999% of legitimate beneficial use of cars. It’s the nut behind the wheel that’s the problem.

And when I see these nitwit kids “protesting”, it makes me physically ill. I ask myself (usually don’t dare ask others, as that’s making BBQ of their personal Sacred Cows), “Well, would it have been better if the idiot came to school with a backpack filled with homemade pipebombs?”. Or severed the gas lines in the school basement, and then lit it up to take out the whole school at once?

We see these (adult) idiots taking dumptrucks and UHauls and running down people… so now what? ban trucks altogether?

Point being, they’re only “problems” because the media distorts reality to make it so. Blacken out the identities of the shooters so that no one will ever ever know them, ie, they don’t get to “live on in infamy”, and those sickos won’t go looking for attention.

Everyone knows Kliebold, Lonza, all those other losers. Maybe if they didn’t, the next lackbrain won’t be tempted to “go out in a blaze of glory”.

And speaking of “protesters”… what a bunch of sissy-pansy crybabies. They want to skip school, yet don’t want to be marked absent, let alone punished or suspended for leaving school property! What difference does it make if they skip school to “protest”, or to hang at the mall and smoke? Or do your silly little “protesting” after school or on the weekend, ferchrissakes.

Real protesters (Gandhi, Parks, Kent State students, etc.) risked jail time, beatings, even death to protest, and these pansies don’t want that little smirch in their “permanent records”. Bee oh oh, aitch oh oh.

That’s how far this country’s sunk. These little nitwits think they’re “effecting change” and “changing the world” and all that rot, but they’re just little sissy-pansy idiots wanting to skip school and pat themselves on the back for, well, nothing of any import.

I just saw an episode of Forensic Files where the murder weapon was a flashlight, looked like a 5D Mag.
