Once I saw you had to “sign-up,” I just closed the page and continued browsing the forum.

I think there is some way to create links that take non-members to the listings, but why bother with a website that breaks the web and then makes people work around their breakage.

In order to offer the best possible prices to our community, we must agree to our vendors. To only display those prices to Massdrop members. Membership is free and instant.

They even have a little thing on the site why you have to sign up to see the prices. Good way to lose a lot of business. On a lot of sites I use guest check out especially if Im only going to buy their once or very rarely. I don’t want my info saved on some random site and my email spammed more then it is.

So wait imma a little confused. You bought this light from Amazon, inserted the battery backwards. Fried the light with a direct short. Which you basically get another light for free when you destroyed it. With amazon’s return policy. And now your a affilate linker for massdrop on the same light?

I am a member of Massdrop. I could not figure out how to get the $39.00 price. I am missing something here.

Thank you for the Massdrop Lumitop heads up. For those not familiar, Massdrop has a great (in my view) business model. A member can do a survey of members to evaluate interest or see what is the best” item in a catagory. Then they essentially “presell” the item, if they don’t get enough interest, you don’t get the chance to buy it, but if they do, as more folks jump aboard the price goes from low to lower. There’s usually a number they need to hit to get the price drop.

That said, it’s always annoyed the crap out of me that I need to log in to check and see what they have going. Thus despite having several great buys on Massdrop, I don’t check in often. Looks like they have it at $49 unless there’s some secret coupon you know about?

EDIT – Nevermind, just figured it must be this: “Introduce a friend to Massdrop. They’ll get $10 when they sign up, and you’ll get $10 credit once they complete their first drop. Only for new Massdrop members.” Which doesn’t apply to me, but thank you.

I think if anyone other than Mr. Zane buys the ODF30 using his link he gets to buy the flashlight for $39.99 or so. Just a guess.

The (supposed) $10 discount looks like it’s from the referral for new members. Basically if someone goes with the URL (with Zane’s referral code in there), then signs up for a brand new Massdrop account, then someone gets a one time $10 of credit for their first Massdrop purchase. And of course the referrer gets $10 as well.

BTW, I just saw the recent deal on Bangood for this light (have to go to the Bangood thread) was for like $54 or so for this light. FYI
