New Convoy C8+ Desert Tan

I just noticed this new C8 variant on the Convoy Aliexpress store. The desert tan anodization looks great on this light. Any idea on whether the extra fins would make a noticeable difference in cooling as compared to a Convoy C8 Clear?

That’s dope!

That light looks really nice.

Also, I love that new tailcap and head design.

And yes, it should give even better thermal performance.
It won’t really matter though, even my Astrolux C8 doesn’t get hot on turbo, even with a Sony VTC4/Samsung 30Q, a FET light

Wow! Big tail button reminds me of the Surefire M6-CB Guardian! 5***** Sensational! THIS is the budget light to end all budget lights. This I can picture carrying into any environment including miles-long pitch black abandoned concrete underground Urban Tunnels.

Edit: This is the flashlight I would trust my daughter with… along with a Orbtronic 3400 mAh cell with Protection Circuit by Seiko! Thanks for sharing! My life is complete.

looks like nicer knurling . I’ve never liked the looks of the C8’s This doesn’t look like a c8 at all and I wonder why he wouldn’t give it another name ? only thing I hate is the split tailcap.. no reason to make it unstable tailstanding .

Great looking light

Easier to operate the switch with your thumb, IMO.

And you more often use the switch than put the light on tailstand position. If not…You need a lantern instead of a C8+

It’s about time convoy came out with a new c8 style. Glad they also came out with a new color too. Nice army color.

I’ve been holding off on buying a Convoy C8. I’ve been eyeing the C8 Clear, but this may be my next purchase! Big Smile

As an urban explorer myself, I prefer more balanced beam profiles such as from the XP-L (HI)/SMO 18650 tube lights. Thorfire TK15S is a great budget light in that class.

Real nice….must have! Was there discussion on this in another thread, or did this just appear “out of the blue”?

Different head, but same diameter, hopefully the C8 SS bezel will fit.

It looks vaguely familiar.

I think there was some discussion in the Desert Tan S2+ thread.

Looks very nice.
We need code from GB or BG Big Smile , but I know there is small chance this will happen.

All codes in last 2, 3 months are not so good as in the past, much higher prices. Crying

Very nice, On first look it reminds me of a C10 with a modified head and tailcap. The reflector looks deeper than a C8

I was also wondering to what extent these parts would Lego with the existing C8

Very nice. I’ve built a couple C8’s for others. One with a 50.2 and one with SST40 but don’t have one personally. This might just be the one. Thanks for posting.

It appears to be using the same driver as the clear version (8×7135) so it would be about the same lumens.

I like my clear C8 and my convoy stuff, but this one is not a looker for me. The extra cooling fins on the head and tailcap, knurling that looks like it will give your skin a scraping, not for me

Seems kinda finny. More fins cut into the head, grooves into tail, etc.

Unno, I like the color, but it looks too “busy”, kinda like a shrunk L6.

I’d be tempted, but the rest of my C8 army would probably dogpile on it and kill it. Or at least it’d get D’Onofrioed with socks full of soap.

Has the process of buying from Simon been simplified recently? I wouldn’t mind getting one, but buying from Simon is a pain in the butt.

Yeah, same here. Too “busy”…

Dunno why it’d need extra cooling by the tail, either.
