P60 drop in

Hi everyone! I just bought a P60 drop in from fastech. I put it on my solarforce gladiator after putting 4x18650 (the drop in is specific for this voltage) but it doesnt turn on. I noticed there’s gaps on the sides of the drop in. How to solve this problem? Thank you very much for your help.

Can you give us the link of the P60 you have chosen?

Maybe they are not making contact… try solder blop ?

The gaps are usually fine. It messes with the cooling a little but nothing to worry about.

Exactly what drop-in did you use? Glancing over Fasttech’s inventory not all of their drop-ins are rated for 18 volts.

1. Are U using button top cells?
2. Are U using the dropin with the outer “ground” spring?
3. Are U using protected cells?
4. Give us a link for the dropin please!

Copper slug tape.
Spring on P60 body?

Cree XP-G R5 5-mode 320 lumens 3.6-18 volts. That is the drop in

One thing to be wary of is mislabeling. I made the mistake of getting a “3V-18V” drop-in from Amazon. Tried it with 2 18350s. LED got very blue, and very hot, very fast. Switched it off immediately, as in no more than a second or two.

LED didn’t fry, miraculously, but I’d hate to see what’d happen if someone hit it with 18V, vs the paltry ~8V from a pair of 18350s.

Or were they 16340s… whatever.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Vinh P60 Triple copper drop in for my SS Solarforce L2M shorty. I just used aluminium foil and wrapped it around tightly for better electrical contact to complete the circuit. Here is a link to Vinh’s old vid on how to wrap it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0icJvLm5l14&list=UUj5rRvDZSnNRYf4Q1mknIoA&index=1&feature=plcp BTW I’m not a noob, I just made a new account)

I will try this thank you.
