I believe they’re only soldered if you choose greater than 4×7135 chips. 4 or less and it should ship with a retaining ring used.

If the copper S2+ comes with a 18350 tube, I’m finally in for one. Curious about the new styling Smile

If the members that already have a Cu S2+ (and want or…need Evil a shorty tube) & the ones that don’t have one, are interested in shorty tubes, maybe we can check with Simon again if he’ll manage to do them! Innocent

i can produce some ,but i want to remove the knurning or change the style .
Product yield rate can be improved greatly if i dont process knurning

Hell yes please! The only reason I didn’t get your copper S2+ is because of the knurling. I don’t really like how it looks, actually I don’t like it on any light to be honest, just doesn’t look good. If it’s just plain, I’d probably get a couple!

@HCRI9080, you could just use a buck driver since Optosolis and E21As have very low VFs, especially in a quad config.

Or you could just use a single 18650 in it.
No need to use 2×18350s then Smile

so would 2 × 18350 come into play if it was a linear driver ?

Simon, I really want to buy a bunch of T2 for modding but I don’t like the driver. Can you consider improving the driver to be like the one on the Reylight TiLan and Brass AA? Reylight have the best AA flashlight rear clicky UI/driver I’ve used. The Sofirn SF14 comes in second. They have no PWM.

In case a completely new driver (which would happen there were to be no PWM) is not feasable, perhaps the current driver can be changed to a higher PWM frequency, anything over 5000 Hz should be a vast improvement.

And when the software for the T2 is adapted anyway, the double-click timing for strobe should be much shorter so that when clicking twice to get from low to high does not result in strobe (like what happens to everyone with the current T2).

…and the 14500 support would be very nice…(…for the possible copper T2…)

Y’all keep forgetting how much smaller a company Convoy is, difficult for him to develop the kind of drivers you’re asking for. Sofirn is a big company by comparison, and I’m not sure exactly where Rey sourced that driver.

Perhaps it doesn’t hurt to ask, but it may be asking too much…

i have other AA driver without PWM several years before ,
it’s LDCH LD30

Its disadvantage is that the components are too dense, not easy to install, easy to short circuit

Simon if you produce a Copper S2+ without the knurling I will definitely buy one. Prefer flashlight with no knurling because it looks cool Thumbs Up

Yeah completely smooth. Smooth tail cap and head too.

If you say the knurling can increase the defect rate, perhaps some people will buy completely smooth ones for a slightly cheaper price. I will buy one, and would also buy S2+ Aluminum in smooth.

I’d buy one too. Mind you I’d buy an S2+ in whatever materials it can be made with.

Notable lights: Q8 with 4 x 3V XHP50.2, bypassed springs, brass driver and tailcap screws, Anduril firmware, removed anodisation, AR glass, warm white switch LEDs (16,800lm)  |  Convoy S2+ with triple Luxeon V 4000k, Led4Power B4 Driver, Carclo 10507, bypassed springs (2900lm)  |   D18 in sand  |  D4V2 in sand  |  D4S in grey  |   FW3A with warm white XP-L HI  |   KR4 Mule in blue
