this light is cryng out extremely loud for a dual switch option- it could became perfect this way
Martin is there any chance to be made dual swtich? Its kinda useless this way, we have too many side switch throwers nowadays…what a waster relaly!
Same story as Emisar DS1….they never listen….
Both can be converted, if you can find or make a clicky-switch tailcap which fits. It’ll also need new firmware. I added dual-switch support to Anduril a while back, which basically just makes it turn on at the memorized level when it gets power (instead of blinking and turning off). So, momentary on the tail switch, brightness and extra modes on the side switch.
I find it humorous the lengths people are willing to go to in order to make (or not make) a purchase. Especially in flashlights, have to analyze the heck out of it, yet the closet has how many shirts/shoes/slacks/jackets/coats? We buy a new shirt because we like how it looks, think it’ll look good on us, not usually because our closet is bare and we have nothing to wear.
Flashaholics are like that with lights… ooooooooh! I LIKE that one! Where do I sign up? (Hmmm, could this be why I have 200 lights?)
I NEEEEEED the 10440 version of the GT! I do, I really really do!
I’d offer firmware, but… if it’s a Mini-GT, for the sake of consistency, it should probably have the same UI as the GT.
Not that your firmware isn’t good (it sure is!!) this ‘mini-GT’ definitely needs the same firmware / UI as the big GT.
For the driver, it needs something like the LD drivers from ledforpower. Very nice CC controlled (no pwm!) lower modes and a possible DD or FET like high / turbo mode for ultimate performance.
This mini version looks great! Though it could be a little bit bigger.
Really love that it has the same looks as the big version. But the fins could have been a little bit smaller and one extra wouldn’t hurt. (as with the big one )
I like it that flashlights are starting to use the 21700 cells but an 18650 version makes still sense.
Is there any idea of runtimes on high/turbo? Will it have a step down? I’m always frustrated by specs based on short turbo modes, the real assessment should be lumen/lux at 10min mark

It is much too early for these questions.

If they continue to run NarsilM then it will be ramping based. You can adjust to whatever brightness level you desire. I think it’s 150 steps over 2.5 seconds, but looks like smooth ramping up and down.
You can turn off the thermal protection all together or just set it to the temperature you desire. You can even do timed stepdown if you prefer.
NarsilM v1.2 is the same as in the big GT so you can do all the same stuff. Even switch from ramping to discreet steps. You can have anywhere from 1 level to 7 levels. It’s all programmable.

Great answer Jason. I guess I was thinking one of the maths wizzes would be able to do an estimate runtime – I was amaze someone way able to assess the max kcd based on the head size? Must be some crazy parabolic analysis haha

Assuming the internal mass of this light is the same as a C8, then we can ask someone with a C8 that has a fet driver running an xpl or xm-l2 at about 4.5A what kind of runtimes they get on turbo.
A stock C8 has a 2.8A draw and turbo does not effect it greatly. That’s just 10 watts.
The mini GT should be around 18 watts. Maybe someone can chime in about the thermal limits.
I think the reflector size is also about C8 sized and just as before, I’m sure there are people running xpl-hi emitters in them that can give us a close approximation of the candela.
So there’s no real math involved, just comparisons to similar lights.

Emisar D1S has “RampingIOS” UI, sometimes called the Emisar D4 UI. It is based off NarsilM, but Emisar owner Hank wanted some changes to make it unique. If you like one, you’ll like the other.
I think they will be very similar in performance. Both have 50mm head, same weight, same emitter, similar brightness, similar price, etc… We still don’t know what driver the mini GT will use. It’s to be determined.
In my opinion, the big difference between it and the D1S is styling.

There’s much more to a reflector than it’s diameter, depth also determines efficiency not to mention the coating quality and the nature of the emitter opening in conjunction with the centering ring and factory acquired focus… and of course the lens quality also greatly influences out the front lumens production.
One can always assume whatever they wish, without actually measuring a production light it’s just going to be impossible to know… (even then the measurement results will be hotly debated. )
Madmax showed “measured 145000 cd (@3m compared to C8s / acebeam L16 / Imalent RT35 / Emisar D1)” on post #2.
I take these measurements with a grain of salt. It’s in the same ballpark as the D1S, so I would say they are equivalent. It may not match exactly to those other lights, but I doubt our eyes will see a difference.

Any word on how it’s going to ship? On the GT I had to pay 40$ for DHL and now I’m having troubles with my customs. It has been stuck at the customs 60miles from me for 2 weeks now.

The GT was a special case due to its large size and weight. This Mini GT is able to be shipped just like any other small flashlight similar in size.

Did I read over the information?
In the sign up list you have the choice between CW and NW LED
Are there any information about the colour temperature or the Bin of the LEDs?
What? I need that, where do I sign up?! One nano-GT in titanium please with copper middle section

NOW we’re on the same page Jos!
I’d be on that like a chicken on a June bug!
Sorry if I’ve overseen a regarding post:

Super, along with the battery is half the weight of UT02. When when will it be available?

Click on: Q8, D4, D4S, D18, K1, FW3A, SDmini, Mini AAA, TIP, M43, H1, H03, TC20, TN40S, TN42, V6, H600Fw, SC600w, SC64w
That is comparable to the Convoy C8 at 145g (according to Banggood website).
That C8 has a 44.5mm head diameter compared to this lights 50mm. So the mini GT has a 5mm bigger reflector.

Wasn’t able to read the messages in between the first page and this.
But it seems to be very similar to the Emisar D1S (ramping).
Any idea how much better it compares to the Emisar D1S or are they mostly similar in terms of brightness and throw distance?
