back in 2011 this guy figured out how to unpot, modify, and repot his Fenix E01
that means people can do it themselves today, if they dont want to pay Vinh to do it, or if they want a real Fenix to mod for themselves, now that Mountain will sell individual Yujis

List updated through post 419 (sandanbob). Current count is 338 lights. We’ve reached a remarkable “caliber” in a short amount of time.

Short cut to the list

Members interested but not yet decided on quantity or color temperature are welcome to post. It’s great to see the widespread interest. Please be aware I’m not currently adding you to the list without at least stating a quantity. If you don’t state a color temperature, I’ll list you initially as 3200K (warm).

The list is not binding, but I want to try to keep a reasonably accurate tally as it should help Sofirn understand the interest level and might be used for an initial group buy, depending how Sofirn chooses to handle distribution.

A couple users have indicated they are in if potted. I am adding you to the list as Sofirn indicated they are proceeding with potting. If that plan changes for some reason, please let me know if you’d like to be removed or reduce your quantity.

Shall I list you each for quantity 1? Anthon and Bungle88, if you have a color temp preference, please let use know.

In if fully potted

Thanks. Please let me know quantity and preferably color temperature.

I’d buy at least 3 of the 3200k. Especially if they can be had in 45 degree versions. Probably a few of the 5600k also.

Sounds good. I’ve got you listed for 3 × 3200K so far. Feel free to follow up as you decide on the 5600K.

Thanks! Updated.

I am just wondering if there is any international shipping option, also I am not sure I understand the logistics. Anyway, I’d be in for several.

This is a good question. I’ll have to let Djozz follow up.

I do know Sofirn has an Ali Express store, so I assume they are able to provide shipping to most nations.

I’ve listed you for 2 × 3200K at the moment.

how do i get in on this? i would love to get 2-3 when/if their available!

Your post is all you need to be on the interest list. I’m listing you for 2 × 3200K (warm white) for now. Let us know if you’d like to change the quantity or prefer 5600K (daylight).

…1st post on this forum, just found out about it because of this thread. Yaay me.

Welcome! I wondered if I’d see some more members I recognize from the other site join to get on this list. You successfully testing 2-cell mods with these emitters is what led me to upgrade my Maglite.

Got you down for 6 as requested. As mentioned above, if the potting plan changes, please follow up to let me know how that affects your interest.

Thanks for following up. You’re on the list at the moment, as the plan is for the light to be potted. If that plan somehow changes, feel free to respond again if you’d like to be removed.

I don’t believe we have information on that from Sofirn yet. Sorry.

I’m in for two of each to check em out. Surely more after that. They sound like perfect give away lights, as well as for sure keepers. My problem would be buying a bunch to give away, but finding a need for all of them and just keeping em. Been interested in Yuji for a while, so gotta try two of each color temp for sure. Smile

Awesome. I’ll probably next update the list this evening (PDT).

Just so those to whom potting is important are clear on the plan, I wanted to repost the latest update that djozz received from Sofirn:

Full post

djozz wrote:
*they are sure the quality of the soldering will be very good. *they will add springs on both sides of the battery if they can make it short enough. *about potting the driver: it is something new for Sofirn but they will do it, the engineers need to “discuss about which hardening compound to use, time of hardening, leaking etc.” But they “believe we can handle it”.

I don’t want to portray the potting decision as set in stone, but they have indicated it is now their baseline plan.

As somebody who works in a manufacturing environment, I want to say that their responsiveness to our input has been great. It’s not always as simple as it sounds to add a new process cost-effectively to a volume manufacturing operation.

I suggested a tail like the Lumintop Ant (tailstand+lanyard hole+trit hole) and Sofirn will do that tail if we want it.

I’ll make a note to poll this as well once we see the prototypes and I set up a colour poll.

They stayed behind and were the last to leave after covering the main army’s dangerous nick of time retreat from Long Island. They crossed the Delaware with Washington. They were “..at Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, and every major skirmish, and battle all the way to Yorktown..” where they fought “the most important part of the siege” according to General Steuben.
