Hello fellow flashers… lol…
I recently received this Olight light and have been messing around with it. Obviously since I also own the X80 I was bound to compare the two.
My comparisons are based on practical user experience… of course my review is subjective .
X7 build quality is excellent its quite heavy for such a small light; yes its heavier than the X80
X7 has less flood than the X80 and has a more concentrated beam
X7 does have one annoying feature which I dislike: It keeps the button slightly dimmed when not in use; I personally see this as a unnecessary battery drain; so I put mine in poweroff mode when not in use
Some of you might like this feature but I don’t
X7 beam in full turbo is quite intense and more than you will ever need @ 12K lumen; the X80 floods much more so it might give the impression its not as strong but that’s just an illusion.
I prefer the beam on the X7 probably because I don’t have the super white light beam and it shows more color
If I only could choose one it would be the X80 because of its power. However reality is most users will not need 25K lumen and even then it only lasts for minutes
I remember the days when 10K lumen was radical ; now its just ho hum…
