Hello BLF, recently got to 3000 posts (and also been here just over 5 years now) so it’s my turn to do a give away. I’ve chosen 3 lights out of my collection that dont get much use (actually of the 3 only the Jetbeam JET-1 MK has been carried, the other 2 have literally lived on my workbench for 3-4 years now). I’ve picked these lights cause they’re somewhat special to me and I dont like seeing them sit. This contest will end Aug 18 as that’s a very important date to me personally.

Rules to enter:

- You must have been a BLF member since before my 31st birthday (signed up before or on Aug 2 of this year)

- You must have a use for these lights (I’ll refrain from saying “a need” lol). Be it for the working light or the host and parts. I obviously have no way of knowing or enforcing this but please be truthful, I really want these lights to be used, they’re fine sitting here doing nothing, I want them out there in the world making other people as happy as building them made me (again feel free to use them as-is or take them apart and mod / build them. Either use is a perfectly acceptable use)!

- You must be willing to cover the difference between domestic flat-rate and international shipping if you’re not in the USA

- Your post should contain the words “I’m in for ” and the light you’re interested in. Also to go along with the theme of this GAW please tell me either the first light you built or the first good light you bought.

Rii E21.
This light is special to me because it’s the first light I ever purchased as a host (and definitely the first complete light I ever bought specifically to disassemble and rebuild). This light has literally lived as half a dozen or more different builds, from my first FET driven light to my first RGBW_Clicky test bed. It’s not perfect anymore the ano is dinged from a rough life on my bench and it never could tail stand cause of the stupid protruding switch but it does have a good pill design that’s very easy to work on. It’s also a very solid light with great machining, thick side walls and good heat transfer out of the pill. As I mentioned above it also suits its self well to being a FW testing light as you can flash FW without needing any tools / to Desolder anything!
Currently it’s built with a Wight 22mm 7135 driver (populated 8x7135 on the top side only), XM-L2 T6 on a sinkPAD and is running BLF A6 FW though note the OTC must be the wrong value as medium clicks take about 6 sec, you should be able to swap the CAP or edit the FW to fix it
Sunday morning edit:I flashed the FW loaded on it and got the medium press time down to a much more reasonable 2-3sec as it should be. Not sure if this is why people were avoiding this one but incase it was it’s fixed now!

Supfire A6
Back when I was running my mod shop I bought and built tons of these, from singles to quads, infact one entire small-town-Ohio police force all have identical builds of these, this was the last host I had left. It throws surprisingly well for the head size & reflector dimensions so I went with a dedomed and LED sealed XP-L 5V 2A on a sinkPAD, it has an old BLF-17dd v3 FET driver running biscotti. This light was NEVER carried, actually it was only just built a month ago. If you’re interested in this light as a host they’re very easy to build a custom spacer for to run a quad setup and as with the Rii E21 the pill design is IMO very good and easy to build on. Also it has a real clip, not one of those snap-in-place junk ones that fall off every day.

Jetbeam JET-1 MK
For xmas 2016 I gave out a handful of these and kept this one to carry a little bit but I prefer to pocket carry a AAA light and I needed a 3rd light since I have 3k posts so here it is. Totally stock, I never felt like fighting the glued driver. It will include the TEC suspension clip pictured.

I think the first good light I bought was the Romisen RC-29.

EDIT: Does anyone else remember when Romisen was the king of budget lights?

My first light, that got it all started was was a Ultrafire WF-502B that is still running strong at a friend of mine.

The first light I built was a green Convoy S2 triple, 5000K xp-g3 on noctigon, FET+1, bistro.

I still carry it as a “required item” for work. It lights up the inside of an Airbus A320 like daylight.

My first good flashlight was an Olight S15R, I gave it to my brother in law when I stopped using it. Thanks for your GAW, I’m in for the Jetbeam, as this is the one I’d like to use as a pocket FL.
