Didn’t say it wasn’t correct Smile but maybe I should change to:
Next step is to place an order on Sofirn Ali Express store select ‘other’ payment and leave a message with your BLF username. The price will be adjusted and you can then proceed with payment. Mine was adjusted within the hour.

Yes, but people still have to post here to get their name on the list. Otherwise the price will not be adjusted. So he is doing it correct. (If your saying it’s not correct)

Yes you are right of course, but I can imagine a scenario in which the Sofirn employee in charge of the website does not bother checking the list all the time and just gives the discount when seeing ‘BLF’. Someone could check that. Party

Uh, sorry, I’m guilty of that.

I am not super patient, in part due to such a short memory… I know I am waiting on Amazon to get these and I’m on that list, but I also ordered one from AliExpress without being on the AliExpress list. Sorry if that throws a wrench in the works. I got excited about possibilities when ordered parts from Neven and , well, wanted to make sure I had one coming in case I forgot to order one from Amazon. I doubt that it matters a bit. It seems like Sofirn is not in a hurry to make an end to this gb, they even have not sold that many via aliexpress yet, and I’m sure they still have some margin on the gb price, every light sold is advantageous for them.

Maybe they aren’t checking the BLF list.

I think the Amazon US will sell out as we already have over 50 people signed up.

Dale, any preview on what you have planned with those new parts? I like the idea of that 4040/5050 board but without a battery carrier and without 4040 centering rings it almost seems like more trouble than it’s worth until one of those things changes.

With a good reamer and some endurance, and a bit less skin on your fingers afterwards you can ream the stock centerpieces to 4040 size.

Nope… have your foot on the gas & be ready to pop the clutch when it happens though. Big Smile

Or I guess, in this case; being fast at signing in to Amazon & clicking the mouse might be more appropiate…….. Wink

I change the bore on centering rings all the time, no sweat there. Was figuring on either the LH351D or maybe SST-40’s. I don’t usually worry about changing battery carriers around and such, if I wanted to use 6V emitters I’d simply stack 18350’s in there and have at it. Wink

Might actually simply flash Anduril and leave it be, or put in the 80CRI 5000K LH351D’s for color. I’ve got all kinds of max power lights, after all. lol

No, just follow the instructions and tell us which store you would like to buy from.

Just noticed another difference with the BLF Q8, when removing battery contact, the switch led fades out instead of stopping immediately. The light must have battery contact for half a minute to show this. There must be some capacitance somewhere that is not in the BLF-Q8. Time to look at the driver (but not today).

Looks like you’ll be the second person here to receive the Sofirn Q8. Big Smile
My order, as of last tracking update yesterday, is still in GuangZhou, “air transport” (ie. just about to leave China).

Regarding the Sofirn Q8, did they still use NarsilM v1.0? Or have they updated to at least NarsilM v1.2?
Strobe modes (not that I use them much though) are a lot more difficult to use on NarsilM v1.0.

First it’s gotta get processed and then get to Melbourne. Could be another week Sad My 2nd BLF A6 arrived with Australia Post awaiting clearance in melb on 5th Sept but light only arrived yesterday.

Thanks, I should’ve read the OP straight through before posting. I want to buy from Amazon in the US.

I recently received some Q8 drivers.  They had a tantalum capacitor stacked on top of what appeared to be the original stock capacitor at C2.  C2 is attached to the trace that powers the MCU.  That might account for the new behavior you noted.  I didn't get a chance to see how the drivers behaved because I modded them for 2S and 4S cells and also reflashed their MCU's before I even used them.

It should be the same as the original Q8.
