mine has arrived today. Quite fast compared to other Aliexpress orders. Everything seems to work correctly in the flashlight. very happy to have bought it.

What is the beam like? Does it have a defined hot spot or is it still floody?

The hot spot is very bright and noticeable. There is still floody spill but it’s substantially dimmer compared to the hot spot. The Q8 reflector is good about creating a nice hotspot with any LED really but these XP-L HI really focus everything right in a pretty dense/bright spot

Thanks for the beam description . This weekend I will be comparing the two Q8s myself.

My guess is logistics considerations (both timing and economics). They may not have had enough lights close enough to you (or me).

I ordered mine yesterday night. The earliest they could get it to me, at any price, is Wednesday, if I pick it up at a locker near one of their local delivery hubs, and Thursday if I want it home delivered.

This isn’t typical. I’ve had stuff with next day delivery come from their distribution center out side of Las Vegas leave the morning after I ordered it and get dropped at my doorstep that afternoon.

It’s irritating though, and your case is extreme enough that they should do something to make good.

I’ve had very good results normally whenever there was a problem.
I feel that they should have offered to upgrade the shipping.
Oh well, I have two of the BLF models, which are serving me fine.

400 lights are already made, 300 of them will stay in China, 50 will be shipped to Amazon US, and 50 to Amazon DE.

Sorfin shipped 50 lights to amazon US.. so they probably out of stock..

Sometimes I like to make anagrams of people’s names, rearranging the letters to see what else they can spell. Last time I did that I found a bunch, but two anagrams in particular made for good pseudonyms, depending on how her day is going:

  • Anna’s having oatmeal.
  • Oatmeal’s having Anna.

Unfortunately, she’s now going on a solid week of being bested by oatmeal. I hope that turns around soon.

Received mine, interesting clover beam spill. Decently bright light, well machined… no qualms about this light, I feel like it’s a good all around light. Using samsung wj1s.

Got mine in today. Very impressed. I don’t normally like cool white, but this has a nice even white beam. I like it better than the BLF Q8.

That's a solid looking beam.  Mine comes tomorrow from Aliexpress and your beam shot boosted my hope that I will like it big time.

I like throwers that don’t have pencil beams. That looks nice.

Pics are in this thread. Everything is exactly the same as the original Q8, just color is cooler and the hot spot is a bit smaller.

I happened to run across this picture by Khas. You can ignore the color differences because that’s not relevant. You can see the smaller and tighter beam of the XPL HI. It’s not a big difference, but you can still see it.

Ordered mine a little late..about a day after getting my code and   it said restocking sept 27? and shipped by oct 2-3 ? ...anyway it came today sept 25th with no prime /regular shipping .

This light has more throw than the BLF-Q8 but visually it doesn't look like twice as much throw . Cooler white tint outdoors is ok but inside it isn't as nice as the BLF Q8 NW tint . BLF Q8 IMHO is still a nicer light
