One of the forumites on cpf posted that these batteries are in the pipeline (with panasonic cells inside). Has anyone heard similar rumours....?

These sound great, would love to test some out. I have a Hioki internal impedance tester ready to do some comparisons all calibrated and ready to go Smile

What you heard is all true, the Xtar 18700 3100mAh(with panasonic cells inside) is in the pipeline, except this time we want to call it Xtar 18650, although it still using the pad to protect the PCB, and length about 69mm...

We have a few samples of the 3100mAh for tests and reviews, so if anyone of you guys is interested to test the battery and write reviews, send a message to me, or email me at service05@xtarlight.com, I will give away some free samples.

Kevin.

When they are expected to be available in retail ? And what will be the price ?

I am glad everyone is sending emails to XTAR for batteries but I would appreciate it if the guys who actually have the equipment and are capable of reviewing these batteries properly are the ones who will receive these as I think these will be very popular here at BLF if they prove to be good and well priced Smile Just a thought;)

Seems a little counter-intuitive, considering the request for testers, and the statement that the batteries are in the pipeline, but they already seem to be listed here: -

I think after a series of tests(which might take weeks), if the performance is good, then we will produce it in larger volume. The dealer will post at the commercial seller's spot. As for the price, how much do you guys think is acceptable?

$16 a pair would be good by me if they are right at 3000MAH

I guess 15/16$ is not possible ...but the price need to be competitive for sure. If it'll be under 20$/pair, that will be definitely good price.

Well heck the Xtar 18700 2600MAH were only $13.50 a pair.  $20 is getting up there.  But that is my opinion.  If your going to pay $20 for a set of these when for $7 more you can get 4 of the 2600MAH, I know which ones I would rather buy.

$20 would be a good price, just looked on HKE and the panasonics they are based on cost more, heck the trustfire 3000s cost $16.

I would go $20/pair if the quality of the wrapper and pcb are up to the Xtar standards and the capacity is close to the stated 3100Mah

Don't forget we are talking about price shipped !!!  Just to refresh - Group buy for pair of XTAR 2600 mAh was $13.50 shipped. If you extrapolate price based on capacity you get $16.10 so final $18 shipped for BLF members seems to be just fine.

You can't work it out like that! It's not a linear relationship between cost and capacity! I'd happily give $27 for a couple of 5.2Ah 18650s Wink

They seem to be from the same factory I got the eX-cell 3100s made in and also the Redilasts and CKs are made in, you get a choice of positive nipple design.

If ordered in a high enough quantity by xtar (to get a lower bulk rate and save on shipping) I can see the lowest reasonable price for a large-ish group buy being around $16.50-18 shipped for a pair. This is based on a low estimate of shipping to xtar HQ as I assume that isn't far from the factory, and also assuming no import taxes and relatively low outbound shipping charges (DX etc can do it cheap).

By the way, there are some very nice pictures of these new cells in the Xtar S1 thread in the LED flashlights section on CPF.

Would be intrested in a definate price, and wonder if the pcb,s would be better then the 2600 that you couldnt draw 5 amps from.
