Astrolux MF04S vs The BLFGT!

Hi all,

Hope you enjoy the show

Great video! I wonder how it measures up to your GT with XHP70.2.

Nice video… you pulled out the blf gt like nothing…

Hey matt, i dont know about your mf04s… mine broke without using it much… less than 2 weeks stand by, all four cells were drained to 2.0 v… led is flicking on the low mode… i am in touch with banggood customer service…

I left mine with the cells in for about 2 days, and didn’t get a noticeable drop in cell voltage. I will leave it for a long time and see what happens. I don’t get an led flicker in the actual low mode (30 lumen). Once in a while if I mess with it enough I get an “extra” mode that looks like a fire fly but mimics the on/off flow of the switch. I was going to mention that in the video but I forgot. Also I cannot force it to repeat the behavior even after trying several times.

I've used my MF04S extensively and no glitches. After reading about the mf02 massive parasitic drain, I keep the mf04 tail cap always unscrewed as it's probably the same.

Does the MF04S tube fits the MF02 or MF01? dual head would be awesome.

New VOB video! Do not disturb please, I’ll be back later! :+1:

For dual head, you probably also would like to know if they share the same battery holder configuration ?

yes

Very nice video “Matt” and I like your setup and workshop. I have watched several of your video’s and they are very helpful and educational, especially for us newbie’s. I probably would not be doing the mod on the MF04 if I had seen your video on the MF04S a few months ago, LOL but we are committed to it now.

Has anybody tried VTC5A in the MF04S?

Today marks the end of my test. On 10/22/18 I placed a fully charged pack in 8.23v. Today is 11/24/18 so just over a month I now have 7.35v. So the parasitic drain is not nearly what yours was, it is still high. I don’t trust any e-switch lights really so 99% of the time I unscrew the cap anyway, but I think with this light I would recommend it to be common practice

Can add the Manker MK41 to the massive parasitic drain list if you leave it's impressive looking e-light on.
