10180 batteries no more easy to find?? where to buy them

Hi,
I used to have a couple of 10180 batteries… the black one that came inside the Astrolux M01 SS and a white one by “Veleno Design” that I bought on Fasttech, if I remember correctly.
Now… the black one I left inside the M01 for several months and I found it dead :F probably because of parasitic drain… and being a steel flashlight there’s no mechanical lockout. The white one I can’t find it anymore… that’s a problem with so small cells i guess XD

So… where do I buy them again??? At a reasonable price I mean… I’ve found them in a few shops but at crazy prices like 5-10 USD each…

I found them to be pretty expensive as well. There are a few shops on Ebay that sell them for about $2 a piece. HERE is one place in China. Klarus has their own branded 10180 but it is really expensive and DQG has their own branded cell as well at a bit over $3 a piece from China.

As mentioned you can get the no name Blue 10180 from china on ebay and Amazon.

Battery Jct. sells that NO NAME Blue battery, Fenix and Klarus, but way too much.

I had a SWM comet that took this battery and sent the light back becuase of its very low capacity and pitiful performance. Possibly the battery was defective as it would not charge past 4.01V.Even so it would only last for about 4 or 5 minutes on max output which was ~ 100 Lumens.

EDIT: I just noticed your from Italy so Battery Junction would not be feasible!! B/W the price and shipping to Italy.

Say hi to my family in Roma, Ascoli Piceno, Acquasanta[ Terme] San Benedetto, ect!!! :+1:

There is the Mecarmy 10180 on Going Gear
10180 on AliExpress A few sellers there.

Yes,I forgot to mention that Mecarmy that B. Jct. carries. It is provided in my link and is the most expensive out the 4 X 10180 Batteries they carry……$6.25/piece!! Insanity! :frowning:

Hate that battery form, will never buy another light that uses them.
Capacity of a button battery!

+1K :+1:

Depends what you use them for, the better quality 10180 cells are around 60mAh capacity.
I wear a DQG Spy ti on a neckchain that gets used very frequently, great for hands free bathroom trips etc as it is always on me, prob 4 hrs on low mode & 15 mins on high. Great for what it is.

The Veleno Designs 10180 cells are rated 90mAh, and the MecArmy cells are 100mAh rated. I think that’s plenty for a tiny keychain light or neck light. But, I admit that I’d like to see somebody doing development with 14250 size. It’s tiny enough for small lights (smaller than 16340) and also 1/2 the size of AA, so two of them will fit in a 1xAA host (only modders will care about that). But it’s bigger than 10180 enough to get (significantly?) more capacity for even keychain size lights. But those are even more rare than 10180. There are actually plenty of new, modern keychain and/or neck lights still being made with 10180 these days, but they are all made with built in charging so the cell isn’t sold separately.

Yeah there was a shortage of supply of 10180 cells for a while but they seem to be coming back. Gotta watch the capacity claims though. The larger MBI Nuke 10250 is 90mAh.
The 14250 cells hold around 250 - 300mAh, I’ve made a few lights with these too, nice size.

thank you all

all the branded ones where too expensive so for the moment I bought a couple of these blue ones I found on ebay for really cheap and free shipping to EU

I’d also like to buy a mecarmy/klarus/fenix/veleno design if we find a cheap option…
By the way, I finally remember where I bought my Veleno Design one… it was not fasttech but the now gone cnqualitygoods shop:

P.S.
funny enough these blue ones here are branded dsaid to be by Jetbeam,
https://www.batteryjunction.com/jetbeam-10180.html
but they look just like the unbranded blue ones I bought from ebay :s

yes, I forgot to mention US stores are not an option
(I am from Rome actually :stuck_out_tongue: but living in Tuscany since several years)

^

You Europeans stay up late!! It is 3:40 am Roma time!!! My Cugino Carlo Camilli lives in Appia Antica[Outskirts of Roma]! :+1:

@fedcas : Could you please tell what you eventually bought and how they perform ?

I am about to buy some from ebay (the 2x set @ 2.69€)

I eventually received 2x 10180 from eBay and tested them along with the 2 Klarus 10180 i already had.

I'll post the detailed measurements later but overall the eBay ones are surprisingly better (higher mAh and lower DC serial resistance)

Any update on where to find 10180 cells at a reasonable price? (About 3$)

The one on my jetbeam died…

Some on *bay, these tested about 70mAh capacity. £2.29 a pair.

DQG Spy runtime graph.

Thanks a lot!

How about a longevity test??

Mine died in only about… 2 years… Almost not used. However I keept it charged at 100% because it is my keychain light , which has to be always charged ready to use…

I think it will be common issue with the cheapies…

Yeah well it’s been two weeks or so and they’re doing great!

That’s the thing with these small cells, you usually keep these fully charged because of EDC carry etc and they do degrade.
I do recommend putting cells through discharge/ recharge cycles every month or so, even if you don’t usually use the cell much but like to keep it fully charged, no scientific evidence for this, just a hunch
I still have one or two original DQG & Valeno designs 10180s from around 4-5 years ago and they measure around 35-45mAh capacity now. Still not bad but every bit of capacity helps in these tiny cells.
I just buy new cells every couple years as I EDC three 10180 compatible lights.

Thank you, sir!

What would be a good 10180 source nowadays?
I see several sellers listing them on Aliexpress, maybe some members have tried them out?
Any other source that’s worth mentioning?
