I’m looking for the lightest possible wall charge (AC outlet) for travel purposes.
Looking for:
- Very lightweight (2oz or so if possible)
- 2 USB ports
Looking for around 24-30w output total, ideally with some kind of quick charge option or USB-C PD
I mostly want to be able to quick-charge a smartphone (12-18w) and at the same time quick charge a powerbank. I have an XTAR PB2 right now so that only requires 10W total (5v x 2A, 1A per battery), but am thinking about upgrading this to a 10,000mAH powerbank that can charge with USB-C PD speeds.
I have Ankers, Aukeys (which I really like) and I have a FastTech brand that has been awesome and it was under $10. I think it was $7. Has two 2.4 amp outlets and one QC3.0 outlet. Works perfect.
I have a 3 port charger that weights 13g according to my kitchen scale.
But according to HKJ review it’s very unsafe….the lightest alternative I found so far is that XHF30W at probably ~80g for EU version.
@nquinn, what you are asking for is a bit hard to find a suitable charger.
Getting a USB power supply that can output 24W+ is hard to do in a small sized form factor, due to efficiency, and power dissipation, along with safety concerns of skimping build quality for weight
I’m currently using this for all of my charging needs:
It can output 24W over the QC 3.0 port, and 12W on the USB-A port continuously, for a combined output of 36W, which is extremely good, and allows for my RavPower QC 3.0 20Ah powerbank to charge extremely quickly.
It’s not too light at 120g, but it will suit your needs if you want fast charging capable USB ports.
All in all, it’s a fantastic wall charger, and it saved my bum multiple times over the 2 years that I’ve owned it.
Finding something with multiple ports, and with USB PD that is very small/light will be a challenge, I’m afraid. I’d take a look at this one, but it’s 4.6 oz: http://a.co/d/bgKVyHL
