11.11 deals don't seem so great???

Am i missing something. 11.11 deals don not seem very good at all. If anyone finds spectacular deals, please share.

Are there 11.11 deals on the 12th?

Last year many deals carried a couple days but I looked on 11.11 and found little that was a deal. A lot of prices were more than what I had seen on member’s deals threads.

There was some good deals but only for pre-orders only… I`ve managed to score a pair of UV-5rs with extended batteries for USD42 (USD21 each)… Wanted the markiii for USD26 but its price already been adjusted.

Added: it’s Baofeng as an example i’m talking about… Do excuse me…

I have the Aliexpress app in my phone and was bombarded for a week leading to 11.11 with items that virtually I have no need nor want for.

Most probably a way to move items that has ‘remained in the shelves’ for quite a while.

I saw a TS100 digital soldering iron for $38, regret I didn’t buy it.

Is vestureofblood moonlighting in GearBest ads/

I ended up getting the Zanflare F1 for $12.90, Skilhunt H03 for $27, and the 6 x 21700 Sofirns for the upcoming PL47 for ~$24, not too bad I guess. It’s my first 11.11, so nothing to compare it to.

I won’t be too surprised if next year’s deals will be even more expensive than this year’s due to the possible end of free China shipping plus tarrifs, at least that’s what I’m telling myself to try and justify these purchases before the New Year. :person_facepalming:

This 11/11 was one of the worst I have seen so far. Compared to the years before the deals were underwhelming, prices skyrocketed beforehand or the discounts weren’t substantial enough. Plus many deals now have shipping costs to some countries.

The irony is I actually saw a few items at good prices, but they were not on the 11/11 deal! So I can buy them any time at the regular price now and can compare against other platforms rather than rushing it on a specific day.

I got the Skilhunt H03 as well for 26,99 usd.
So far i have been able to control myself

I saved about $300 on 11:11 by not buying anything, so it wasn't a total loss that none of my flashlights came on sale.

This was my first 11.11. as well. Been looking for deals on some of the large flashlights like TN40S or K65, but did not find anything. Ended getting some stuff that is cheap year long anyway.

I grabbed a Haikelite MT09R XHP35 HI Neutral White for just 70 percent of original price + shipping (was available in M4DM4X birthday collection on BG - deal is already expired). I think, that was a pretty good deal.

I didn’t expect much really. But this year I haven’t seen any discounts at all to be honest, just an ordinary ones we get as a “spam” daily in all the threads.

This!

Whole 2017 was awesome in term of discounted buying, plenty of good deals, etc … but since gearbest announced “less discounts - improved service, bla bla…” only thing with less discounts included are improved (or rather increased) shipping costs.
It’s impressive how sale policy change of only one online store can drasticly affect whole flashlight market and my wallet.
I saved so much money in 2018 compared to 2017

The stunning fact is, despite (or because of?) the regular/non-discounted prices AE broke their own 2017 sales record. Went from 25$B to more than 30$B this year on 11/11.
I guess the Chinese platforms have figured out it pays off to have smaller or no discounts at all.

GB also improved they policy on missing shipments - they now get 50% of the order value to re-ship it or offer to return you 50%.

What kind of deal is that? So if your product goes missing, you lose 50% ?

Right, that’s exactly how it works.
If you paid with PP you can dispute but then you need a new GB account.
If you paid with the wallet you have no such option. Furthermore you can’t pay the extra 50% with wallet, you need to use real money.

Well, I would certainly dispute it, get back 100%, and never buy from GB again no matter what deals they had going on
