Trustfire TR-020 four slot charger (it kinda sucks)

This is a placeholder. I was contacted by external email (not through BLF) by Trustfire’s sales director asking if I’d review a new 4-slot charger.

I told them they should send one to HKJ and they replied they will do that.

So watch for his review. I’ll add a link when it happens.

Meanwhile, my impressions herewith:

I’ll follow up once I have something to say about it. Anyone else getting one feel free to comment.

Well, I hope to see a review from HKJ at some point, he can really evaluate this.

From my experience I wouldn’t recommend it; it’s pricey for what it does, compared to other popular chargers.

It seems to almost charge NiMH cells, but never quite recognizes they’re finished — a counter on the screen goes up for a while then just stops.

It lights its info screen up briefly when a battery is put in, then goes dark — so I need a flashlight to see its status, or need to poke one of the buttons to make the screen illuminate again.

It sees to charge li-ion consistently and does take those to a displayed 4.2v then stops charging, I think.

Not excited.

I have done some testing on it and Trustfire did ask when I was going to publish the review, but after i told them it had some problems I have not heard anything from them.
I do not know when I will publish the review, it is not written yet and I need more tests.

When doing these test I sometimes wonder about the results. Do the manufacturer not try their own products? Any company could match my test or do better, 5 days and 10 chargers would give a much broader test than I usual do.
