Lumens goes the opposite way. Probably along with battery drain if that matters to you.
xhp70.2 is a beast, expect it to be big and bright but not carry as far.
Xhp35 is the only de-domed one which makes it throw better (+ the fact that its smaller and that generally = more candela) the 4000k is super pleasant of you're into warmer (possibly higher CRI) tints. It's also discontinued, what ever that means in this hobby anyway:P

I just would like to ask, if you have access to either XHP35 HI or the new XHP35.2 HI (introduced in March 2020) emitters.
Basically, the XHP35.2 HI has very similar performance stats to the older XHP35 HI, but I think, at some time point, XHP35 HI will be more difficult to access, and XHP35.2 will be better available.
The most important question is, can you get 90 CRI tints of either the old XHP35 HI, or the new XHP35.2 HI, and if so, what CCTs you can access at your Cree retailer?

These 2 made me smiling for days. M21B is perfect host for XHP50.2 and new T2 is simply WOW.
Although description of new T2 say it’s 0.5A on AA and 1.5A on Liion, when running both chemistry on max setting, brightness difference is minimum. At least to me. I just love it. Perfect size and bright as hell.

Simon, any update on your SBT90.2 Light? Approximate Release Date? Host release date?
Drivers and MCPCB for LED are being produced.
Simon
You consider to do an AAA light with E21A 2000K?
Because this CCT does not harm the endocrine system and the sleep cycle,
and is perfect for indoor use.
We lack them.

I compared the flashlight with the L6 XHP70.2. From the naked eye, the brightness of the two is similar. I feel that this sample of mine is a little greenish, which should be due to the lack of red phosphor. Its light spot is relatively uniform, and there is no yellow-green on the edge of the light spot like XHP70.2.
I don’t have a spectrum tester, so I don’t know its true color rendering. If anyone has relevant test equipment and is interested in making a detailed review, please contact me and I will send samples for free.

How quickly does a flashlight get hot compared to XHP70.2?

ok ,i will add it in my plan
Well,a small clicky light TIR lens 3/4modes (no strobe)
start 0,1 lm – 4 lm -25lm – 100lm with reversible UI would be nice
with E21A 2000k
Simon, you should try the Luminus SST-70 with a 5A-6A driver in the L6. I installed one in my L6 and the beam is amazing. MUCH better than XHP70.2 and XHP50.2.

I saw that Simon has just listed the L21a in ’3v xhp50.2 6500k’.
Could someone school me on all the different led options available for the L21a?
So far the only ones I’m familiar with are the SST40 and Osram.
What are the bullet point differences between
- 3v xhp50.2
- xhp35 hi
- xhp70.2?

YES!!!^^^^^^^
I’m on XHP35 (.2) 90CRI humt for some time. Prefferend tint is 4500K and 5000K.
Mouser and Digikey have them but minimum order is 500-1000pcs

I’m pretty sure these (XHP35 HI 4000k B4-40E) are 90 CRI. I have some and they’re really lovely.
O_O
I know. Not 5000K though...

Drivers and MCPCB for LED are being produced.
I will ask the LED agent on Monday
Are the 12V 4A drivers for the GT/FC40 LED?
Driver sample will be available this week.
Excellent!! Please keep us updated.
Indeed.
Yeah Simon, keep us updated with that Upcoming L6
In search of the most ideal flashlight in town:

Excellent news. Does the 12V 4A driver have 12 group UI?

I can test the L6 FC40 for output and color rendering. Please send me a private message. Can’t promise a full blown review, since I’m quite busy.

Sorry for my poor english.
This is great! Thanks Simon for the update and willingness to develop lights we are interested in. And thank you to maukka for offering to test it!
This is a great opportunity for you Simon to reference your measurement values against Maukkas calibrated equipment, too!

Simon, will you be releasing a conversion kit with GT-FC40 and driver for the L6?
USB power meter/tester thread
I'm interested in driver only.
If 4A and it could fit M21C-U AND work on single-cell...hell yeah!
