As I have seen so far, there are very few Luminus emitters with <5000K CCT.

Most of these throwy emitters are available from ~5000K and only so called “standard” CRI.

The most anyone can do for SFT-70 is to seek a tint closest to 5000K as much as possible.

(By the way, Luminus website seems a bit outdated for me, because I couldn’t even find SFT-70, still, Simon has already samples of it.)

Hi Simon,

Do you plan to make the Z1 with osram red and blue?

I have the c8+ in red green and blue but the z1 would be better for color mixing.

With the lights shined on the ceiling you can make colored shadows, the kids love it.

I guess not.
Low color temperature is a niche market.

Simon, Will you be able to offer mod kit for existing L6 owners? (Emitter, driver SMO reflector and centering ring)

L21A Xhp35 HI 4000k is my favourite outdoor light.

I’m looking forward to trying SFT70 in 5000k or lower (prefer 500 to 1000 lower)

Could you share some beamshots please? I’m interested in this combo…

The L6 reflector is not universally applicable to various types of LEDs.

Hello d_t_a,

Thanks for sharing these beamshot videos, these also seem to confirm, that the XHP35 HI 4000K option is 90 CRI. I ordered one already two weeks before, so I will be happy to receive it.

Earlier, I asked Simon, if he could get 4500K or 5000K CCT of XHP35 HI 90 CRI, but if I receive this, and I like it, probably I'll buy another for one of my friends, who already would like a high CRI thrower.

I would be in for one.

Oh yes. 4500 and 5000k are awesome.

They still can be found but only in 500ea quantity.

That would be great if Hank could source some...

Is the driver retaining ring for the S2+ available?

I thought I found it here, but the description only indicates fitting the S21A and M21A.

Did you already shared some pictures of that host?

Long time ago i made a design for a 3×21700 host with 1 led, does this one also has one led?

Curious about the design you’ve made.

Oh man that is much greener than the ones RNGWN was selling. Too bad Convoy couldn’t get a rosy batch otherwise this could have had so much potential.

Simon sent me an L6 FC40 sample for testing. The driver has three modes.

I measured the output at 30 seconds with iJoy 26650 batteries.

Low 231 lumens
Mid 1285 lumens
High 3351 lumens (3300 lm at 60 seconds)

Visually the beam is quite green especially on the mid and high modes. That was verified in the sphere. Here are the results with the beam integrated. The tint shift is not bad at all, but the SMO brings out some unevenness in the beam. Probably nothing to worry about outside, but visible on a white wall. I’d put a minus green filter (at least a 1/4 or Zircon 803) on the front glass to alleviate the green. That would drop the output approximately 20 percent.

Bump! I’m still hoping to see if anyone knows the answer before I place my order.

Given that there are some drivers out there that require the ring to be modified, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has asked about spare retaining rings for the S2+.

That ring does not fit the S2 or S2+ because they are made for 17mm drivers. That retaining ring/adapter is for larger hole pills (20mm) to make a 17mm driver to fit there. Withouh that, the pill will be suitable for 20mm drivers.

In case you need a retaining ring for a S2/S2+ pill, maybe you can ask Simon directly, I’m sure he’ll send you one Wink

Thanks. That was how I thought the dimensions were meant to be interpreted, but wasn’t quite sure, and I didn’t know Simon takes off-menu requests. I’ll be placing my order tonight.
