Hi, found out about this place from Whirlpool - I've been lurking/occasionally posting on CPF for a fair while, mainly interested in batteries, but I do have quite a few lights now, most of them budget ones!
Hi there Didge, a warm welcome to you! Thanks for joining.
I have seen that a rather large percentage of our traffic comes from Whirlpool. I don't even know what the site's about, is it just anything technology related?
Hi, I understand that Whirlpool started out in 1998 as a forum primarily for ISP related information (and is not related in any way to the washing machine/refrigerator manufacturer).
It has now expanded to include sub-forums which cover just about everything technological and lifestyle related and it has a HUGE 75 page thread for DealExtreme stuff.
I first discovered CPF, and then subsequently BLF, via Whirlpool but since CPF has now lost the plot and turned against the Chinese vendors, I think people should start promoting BLF there instead. Really helpful forums like Whirlpool and BLF with their more ‘user-friendly’ mods deserve our support rather than restrictive forums like CPF. I'll certainly be mentioning BLF there when appropriate.

@Admin, Whirlpool (or as we sometimes call it, "Whingepool") is mostly about tech stuff, and can be quite handy, as long as you have an active BS filter. Pretty much like most forums I guess.
@Flex, thanks for the link - I hadn't seen that thread before, I've been browsing pretty heavily the last week or two, as I have a couple of weeks off after a hand operation. I've bought three bodies, two dropins, three emitters and two 18650s so far since I've been off (oh and I almost forgot, a Fenix E21 neutral-white) not to mention a bunch of R/C stuff for one of my other hobbies.
Can I afford to be off work much longer?
Cheers
ps Thanks Daniel for your help with my LighTake purchase.

Just getting into RC's myself. ( like I don't have enough hobbies/interests )
Weldome didge. Have a pleasant time here this friendly forum. Don't be afraid to ask anything as there is no "forbidden" themes as opposet to the other site.
Enjoy.
