Problems with Bang good

I recently ordered a GT Mini with a NEUTRAL WHITE emitter from Bang good. When I received it, it was a COOL WHITE. I have been having a back and forth email exchange for about a month now, trying to get them to swap this light for one that I ordered. Their position is that since the light works, what’s the problem. Keep it and we will give you a small reimbursement [at the time of this writing $10 USD]. How can I get them to understand that I don’t want a cool white emitter, I want a neutral white one? At lower light levels the beam has an ugly green tint around the edges that I can’t stand.

You don't really need a parachute to skydive. But you DO need one if you want to skydive twice!

Hopefully you paid via PayPal and can file a dispute with PP and get your money back that way.

Is this item shipped by Bangogod or the manufacturer?

I know Sofirn offered to ship direct after I bought it from Amazon.ca. Don’t know if it’s the same with Banggood.

A month is too long to have a “back and forth email exchange” because you might eventually exceed Paypal’s coverage term. BG has a live chat feature on their website as well as options for a phone call and facebook messenger. I would get in touch with them using one of those methods ASAP. Keep pushing for what you want. Tell them that any solutions that aren’t acceptable “are not acceptable” and reiterate what you want.

In my experience working with BG’s customer service people, it seems like they have a script and procedure, and if the customer rejects their first proposal, then they go to the next one, etc., but only after explaining their alternate proposal. I also get the feeling that they are double-checking everything through Google Translate, so they seem to err on the conservative side of any potential misunderstandings. I had an order recently that was for a flashlight and a few small $1 items, but the flashlight turned out to be out of stock. They proposed cancelling just the flashlight and shipping the small items. I explained that I wanted to cancel the entire order instead, and I could buy the small items at a later date. It took several back-and-forths over live chat to communicate this, but eventually we got it sorted out.

If all else fails, Paypal can get you sorted out, but if for some reason you didn’t want to do that or couldn’t, and all else really did fail, still another option (although kind of a sucky one for you because it takes your time and effort) would be to accept the partial refund from BG, sell the cool white GT Mini in the marketplace here to make up for the difference, and then just buy a replacement from Amazon.

Banggood should start a policy of being able to ship stuff back to their US warehouse. Shipping that light back to China with a tracking number would cost double the cost of the light.

Ahh yes, yet another member has issues with Banggood. I have addressed this issue on a previous thread about BG practices : http://budgetlightforum.com/node/62164

I still had problems when I ordered the Convoy L6 for a close friend of mine. I shouls have refused but I would rather help a friend though.

I agree I ordered a light from BG and the rubber USB cover was missing, went thru all the stuff of sending pictures what ever they asked I don’t even remember probably 8 emails, they offered 300 BG points after a month of frustration with no resolution I filed dispute claim with PP. BG agreed to exchange or give me credit all I had to do was ship it back with tracking # i checked, shipping was like $52.00 plus the lithium battery paper work, tried to explain that I only paid $19.00 for the light and it was not worth it, in the end PP denied my claim because I didn’t send the light back. I could have probably fought it and won but life’s to short.

I wasn’t that impressed with PP claim process I couldn’t attach any documentation, I would have thought if you print a copy of the email conversation to a PDF it would make it very easy to just attach a copy of the email, but they make you retype everything or copy and paste.

I’ve heard a lot of positive things about Paypal’s buyer protections, but actually dealing with their customer service to get even a simple misunderstanding resolved has been terrible for me too. I spent a year after college working abroad, and a few months in, I ordered a camera from ebay from a seller who would ship internationally to me. I didn’t have any problem bidding on ebay, but when I went through the checkout and logged in to Paypal, my foreign IP address triggered their automatic fraud protection, which locked my account. I could have set a vacation in the account settings or by emailing them before I left, but already having logged in from a foreign IP put everything on lock down, so I couldn’t even have a relative back home go into the account and set the vacation. I got it cleared up eventually, but it involved several phone calls and emails to them. It took so long that I ended up having to get a relative pay for the camera and I paid them back like a week later.

Silly question, maybe, but how would they handle a DOA instead of wrong-tint? Same way?

I can tell my one experience with a DOA light & Banggood Lightbringer. 2 emails from me, two from them. Problem solved in less than 24 hours. New light shipped. I kept the DOA one. Got some “Banggood Points” for my trouble too. Wink

Basically, I think it all boils down to which ever CS person you end up talking to.

Anyone know why the Convoy L2s are taking a month or more to ship?

The last message I received from banggood about the half-dead emitter in the L6 I received stated they had contacted their supplier but had not received a reply and asked me to wait for their reply. That was four days ago. Five days ago I sent a pm explaining the situation to the banggood rep here. No reply.

edit: I think it’s f’d up when a vendor rep pops in on a near daily basis to update a sale thread but can’t be bothered to reply to a pm about a problem.

+1 this. File a dispute on Paypal. You will have to provide them the details on the transaction and how they “scam” you.

Soooo… Banggood have just asked me twice if it’s alright to steal my money Facepalm

These USB lights were on sale last month, £1.18 per pack of 5 pcs, so i ordered 5 packs, 25 pcs.

They only sent 1 pc per pack meaning i was missing 20 pcs. Those 20 pcs cost £4.72, they offered me a refund of £2.36.

I declined, explaining that i paid £4.72 and that at current prices i would have to pay over £17 for the missing items, so £2.36 was an insult and i would just like the missing items sent to me and that they could add them to another order i’d just placed to save them postage.

Today they stated that the items are out of stock and asked if i would accept £2.36 refund.

According to their website the items are in stock and available to purchase on the link above. I paid £4.72 for the items but instead of sending them to me as agreed they want to give me £2.36.

Am i missing something obvious? Can anyone offer a reason as to why this isn’t just plain theft by fraud?

I’d give ‘em one last chance, forewarning them that my next step would be to approach Mr PayPal or Mr CreditCard to fix things.

Your not missing anything. I think the BG CS rep(s) you are dealing with are not the sharpest pencil in the box when it comes to math skills. Facepalm

Explain it very simply one more time, as Lightbringer suggested. If they still do not understand, call it a day & let PayPal or CC sort it out; again… as Lightbringer suggested. Thumbs Up

I will let you know, my MS12 got a faulty LED, so far i sent them a video because i know they will ask for one, they just replied and asked me for a picture of the SKU label (wasting time.) Which I have provided without argument. Fun times.. Probably be coerced into accepting a partial refund as return shipping may be prohibitive

I wanted to buy a couple of blf A6 xpl 3D from banggood, what the hell. I placed an order said it would arrive 15th of march. That was two days ago. Now my account shows nothing in it no orders placed. They are not answering my questions when sending them a message. So I thought I would order 2 more and now the shipping time isn’t until May or possibly August, if I order from China. Now if I ordered from the US the price almost doubles and adds $15 for shipping. this is BS.

repeating 2.32 or what ever is a blatant p-take.. just a guess (based on sick of hearing it these days) it narmaly means a three to four week chat then a suggestion that its too late now.(even though the 4 week to resolve thing is from the last contact, so save all messages.

I ordered a couple Convoys on the 4th and they have been stuck perpetually in back order status since then. I ordered direct from Simon on the 9th and they are already at a USPS facility in CA. Ali Express is usually the slow one! I think the Chinese new year may still be going on over at banggood.
