There is a 10180 mini keychain light works as “twist for Low 10LM, twist further for High 330LM”. It will be available to buy on sofirnlight.com soon.

I like that it’s stainless steel. Might make it on my keychain as backup through winter.

Anyone know where I can get one in the light blue body?

Sofirnlight ($6.50 + $3 shipping), or Aliexpress ($10, free shipping)

I'v just ordered two units (blue and orange) from Sofirnlight, they shipped the next day.

Thanks for the info. First order from Sofirnlight, we'll see how it goes.

You don't really need a parachute to skydive. But you DO need one if you want to skydive twice!

According to them, the lighter blue version is no longer available, even though they show it on Amazon.

Thanks why I’m asking around.

When did Sofirn change the knurling on the C01S?

I just received 12 orange C01S from the recent Sofirn deal on Amazon and the knurling is different. The pattern is now wider and the top of the tiny pyramids are much flatter.

The older pattern of knurling was tighter with more peaked contact areas, perfect to give a nice positive functional grip for a small twisty, it’s too smooth now.

I wonder if this change is only on the newer colors or all. I will wait a few days to consider and might have to return these.

Very pleased with my first Sofirn lights: a blue and an orange C01S, Low-High modes as expected, very nice tint. I added a piece of thin frosted film to remove a few artifacts in the beam, which is now perfectly smooth.

I'm considering the following mods:

  1. Adding a magnet (I'll have to order some, found a dealer on AE who sells them by 10 pieces only, I don't need 50 or even worse 10 units). Question to those who have done so: I assume the magnet has to be glued, and therefore cannot be removed later?
  2. Filling the trit slot with resin + GITD powder (I don't want any tritium).
  3. Painting small parts of the lights with high quality GlowInc GITD paint (tail, and edge of the head).

Any suggestions are welcome...

I’ve added magnets to some, a trit vials to one, and tried resin + glow powder with one. The glow powder did nothing for me, can hardly tell it’s there. If trit vials are an option, do them! I love mine with a trit. But if it’s between glow powder and nothing, go for it.

Magnets… At least I needed glue. I put a small drop of super glue gel in the hole and then put the magnet in. To make sure I got it at the right level, I found a piece of horizontal steel (top of my fridge), laid down some foil, and then put my C01S on it, magnet side to the fridge. That sucked the magnet level while the glue cured.

Not sure why it hasn’t been brought up before now but the trit slot is far too deep and too wide. I know we wanted plenty of room but it’s really hard to center and it sits really far down in a pool of UV glue. It’s usable but it would cool if it got refined at some point.

Thanks gchart, good to know. What kind of glow powder did you use?

I put a sliver of clear plastic under the trit which keeps it just below the top of the slot then encase it in Norland 61

(dirty from lots of use)

That’s good! If the vial is exposed there’s a higher risk of breaking it. A little bit of glue on the top helps a lot.

This is not “a little glue on top”, I wouldn’t even mention that. This is “2-3x as much glue as necessary” and a plain waste. Unless you do something like shirnask and fill in the bottom or try to layer the glue it’s way too deep. When you layer it you just create bubbles or make it uneven.

Look at this variation:

I used what I had handy, a tube of silicone caulk. Worked fine.
