Recommendation for high drain, protected 26650

Hi everyone, I recently purchased the MHVAST TS70 from Banggood, and am very happy with the light. After closer inspection however, I noticed that it shipped with a large tear in the wrapping for the battery… So I am looking for a replacement battery that can perform just as well as the one it shipped with, as I am not comfortable using the damaged battery. Any suggestions??

Thank you!

Is it just the wrapper that is damaged or is the metal creased or dented?
If it is just the wrapper, re-wrap it.
I do not believe the battery that came with it is protected. It just has a slightly raised positive and so it looks like a button top. Any high drain flat top that can handle 10 amps should work fine in this flashlight .
I have Keeppower protected but I prefer to use my Shockli for a light such as you have which has LVP cutoff at 2.8 volt.

There appears to be a slight dent, which I why I am not planning on using it anymore. Will there be a performance difference between the two you mentioned? I have read positive reviews about the shockli 26650

Can you post a pic of your battery? Just curious about how badly it’s damaged.

I would not use a protected battery unless I had to. They tend to reduce turbo performance on these boost driven lights, are expensive, you have limited choices, you don’t always know what battery is under the wrapper and the extra length and width can make it too big to fit certain lights.

The protected Keeppower 6000mah is a good battery, but the protection circuitry limits it to 10A.

The protected Imalent MRB-266P45 4500mAh is good for 15A, but I don’t know what battery it uses.

The protected Orbtronic 26650 5200mAh is good for 15A, but I don’t know what battery it uses.
