Does anyone know the proper way or have some tips and tricks how to open an glued heads and remove a glued drivers from an light body.
I have Niwalker Aurora C11 which have problem and I need to open it, but driver is glued. It is problem inside head, probably driver problem or bad solder… Light is lose strength and blinking as on the video :
I think of that, but this is some kind of super glue I think, don’t know is there will be any effect to try since it is not thermal glue as far from what I can see, glue is transparent like super glues is. Probably I will quit from this, light arrive in this condition and I already get replacement by Niwalker, but I want to repair this and that will not happen how much I can see…
I don’t see any mark how I could remove a side switch from external side.
The crazy glue loses its adhesion capacity at 100 degrees, but it may be very hot for this. Another idea is to use some solvent such as acetone mixed with water in very small amounts with a swab. Usually that works great, after a little mechanical force the piece just snap. Look for debonders in stores, but be careful ’cause they will soften anything plastic. In case is not press fitted of course.
I have previously dremelled a small hole between a driver and the shelf it sits on and then used a piece of steel strap often used on pallets with a hook shape filed into it to lift a glued driver.
A bit of the negative contact pcb stuck to the glue but it didnt destroy the driver
