Rofis MR30 Issues

I have a 3-month old Rofis MR30 and it’s malfunctioning. The light requires MANY tries to turn on with the electronic switch and then won’t turn off. I reached on on the Rofis site and email with no response whatsoever. Is there a Rofis rep on here?

Following… Same problem. I got one contact back from Rofis asking me to ship it back to China, but I quickly found out it would cost more than what I paid for the light to ship it. I’ve emailed them four times since then and got no response.

Well… 3 more emails later, and still no response. Rofis is on the sh!t list for sure.

I should add that I also have an MR-50 & MR-70 that have the 3 second turbo problem as well. Never received a response from them about that either.

I guess I bought an expensive power bank, since the flashlights are useless.

It is difficult to get the Chinese manufacturers to help. I did get Folmov to send me 2 new tailcap for the 18650S, only asked for 1 but they sent 2. They did ask that I change my review on Amazon to a more positive review based on customer support. Maybe you can start there. Place a review on Amazon. Never know. They don’t like bad reviews there.

Just received an email from Rofis asking for my address. They are sending a new MR-30.

How ironic is it that I got one of my MR30’s out today and it would not work correctly. It lit up very dimly in high and turbo but I could not see any light on low and medium. I sent them a message hopefully I will get a responce as well. Frustrating. Glad to hear they responded. Gives me hope.

Whom are you speaking with. I have not received a response from anyone at Rofis. Do you have an email I could send to?

It usually takes a week for a response but I have a replacement unit in route. They just asked for a video. They also provided tracking which I have not attempted to look up yet.

service@rofislight.com, but it doesn’t matter… I never got a response from them. Haven’t received a light either.

However, Since I figured this was a lost cause, & pulled the light apart to see if I could fix the switch myself. A small shot of Deoxit seemed to fix the switch. I’m sure WD-40 world work as well.

Now if I could only fix the turbo problem on the other 2 lights!

Try cleaning the threads? Boost driver are fairly finicky.

Yes, done all the tricks.

Clean all the contacts, new battery, etc. For some reason, it only happens after sitting for a few hours. Unscrew the cap, tighten it, & it works, for a short time.

It’s a known bug on the MR-50 & MR-70, documented here many times. Almost as many times as Rofis lack of customer service. I have just accepted I have a pair of over priced non-turbo flashlights. That’s why when leave home, I grab my Nitecore or Olight.

Have you tried swapping with other batteries?

I have a light i made my self its a XHP50.2 with a boost driver it does the same thing. Even if the threads look okay i clean them and it goes away. Its caused by high resistance some where in the circuit and that is usually in the threads in my case. It could also be the side switch?

Yea i done heaps of reviews for Rofis in the past but i have no contacts there now but they do see a few people come and go so its some times hard to get a response from the same person who knows what is going on.

I never thought about it being the switch. I have cleaned every contact & tried multiple high-current batteries. It always does the same thing. If they are using the same POS micro-switch as the MR-30, that would explain it.

I guess I will be pulling them apart tonight.

Who did you buy the lights from? Might be easier going through the seller to get a new light? If its not that old you can lodge a PayPal dispute?
