Goodbye internet connection - Update in post #80: Internet is back!

My internet connection at home has been cut off.

I'm at a public library right now.

Mr. Admin doesn't want anyone to discuss online piracy, and keeping that in mind, I cannot say why we lost the internet.

Once we get the internet back, I will have to get a VPN again.

I will not be on BLF as frequently as in the past until we get the matter sorted.

Good luck RC! Let‘s hope it’s not the Umbrella corporation behind the disconnection. ;-)

It's Exede satellite internet.

They say that they sent warnings via letters in the mail, and emails, but we didn't receive anything from them.

They should contact us on Monday.

Although I don't like satellite internet, it's the only choice for broadband where we live.

I feel for you man. I was without internet for about 2 weeks after the same situation, had to find a new ISP.

Stay strong!

Good thing you just bought a PS4. Time to play RE7 and RE2 remake! :sunglasses:

May I ask what bandwidth you normally get for upload and download?

that is horrible - wishing you all the best and a quick solution.

Resident Evil 2 remake is great. RE7 was also great, and very immersive. Highly recommend both.

During specific hours and days, we had fast internet.

Otherwise, we had slow internet.

With fast internet, I could download about 2MB/sec.

With slow internet, I could download about 25KB/sec.

I think our maximum upload was about a quarter of our download.

However, with slow internet, surfing the web was faster than 25KB/sec.

I played Resident Evil 1 REmake and RE7.

They were both very good.

I haven't played RE2 REmake yet, but I plan to, probably on PC.

Wait, you lost your ISP connection just because content providers are salty, and are attacking your ISP for no reason?

Seems like Viasat(the owner) is also a content provider…

Disgusting practices done to an individual.

In the meantime, download as many posts on BLF as possible along with a lot of YouTube vids.

Goodbye drivers license.

I was told not to drink and drive.

I did.

Now I lost my license.

Dont feel bad for me? I’d hope not…

*note I didn’t actually drink and drive cause I’m not an idiot. If you don’t do illegal things you don’t have to suffer the consequences. Is this a serious “feel bad for me” thread?

To harsh? I don’t care.

“woe is me, I did something I’m not supposed to do and the authorities stepped in”

Sorry I don’t just jump on the “I’m sorry, how could this have happened to you” bandwagon…

I admit I did something wrong.

I should have been using a VPN.

We just didn't get the warnings that our ISP claims to have sent.

Yeah. They just want to bully you into submission.

Equating DUI’s to Internet violations is nonsense. Grow up.

Was this in California?

Here's what I think of using the internet at the library:

The keyboard is sticky, and I don't care for it.

I don't really like the mouse either.

I cannot go to some websites because they are blocked.

The connection speed is very fast compared to satellite.

I'll be glad once we get the internet back at home.

Yup, Palm Desert to be exact.

I wonder why it is so sticky…

Didn’t know ISPs are so strict in California. shocking.

Lol. I used to work in Palm Desert.
