i had read about a3s being washed and dried before but somehow i never really believed it. anyway, i had presented a a3 to my cousins son who is doing marine engineering. his first stint is on a oil tanker. he just e-mailed me saying he left the a3 in his pocket and it was laundered, but is still working perfectly. he is all the more impressed ( as am i ) because clothes are not handled that carefully on ship.
But I had backup keys at 2, 3 60, 200, and 900km. Fortunately the closest spare key holder (my father) was at home. Was not looking forward to driving to my brother's house 900km away (24 hour round trip on a bad day) to collect a spare key.
If I was going to find it again - I would already have done so.
The people who look after the swamp park are sent there by the criminal justice system so I'm not about to tell the where the key belongs.
btw guys, people do report that the A3 may die one day. cpf is actually full of such reports. yesterday again another A3 is kaput -thread. The Tank E09, which is an A3 clone, is easier to fix if there's a problem in the torch's head. just saying.
