Just read the first post,

transfer money to his paypal account while stating BLF group Buy

Then with extra information note the specific model you want (driver, cw,nw or ww) holster/no holster
and pay the responding money.

Then when he ships your order you will recieve a e-mail!

I'm considering this offer but my Skyray 3 mode has been ultra-reliable so far. It pulls 2.85a at 4.2v rising to around 3.5 for the majority of the runtime with a proper buck circuit. It drops less than 3% in the first 2 minutes (after my homemade heatsinking) and outputs 1800 dropping to around 1750 lumens when warm according to my measurements on max.

I prefer the form factor of the Dry but can't get over the overdriving of the LEDs on max. PWM for all the lower modes isn't ideal either, I just don't see what it would give me over the SR3800 (maybe I'll only realise when the driver blows on it) but then I have a TR-3T6 driver for back-up anyway.

Why are questions about PWM frequency not being answered?

Ric can you please answer the questions raised by myself and many others?

I have to say this is a very strange way to conduct a group buy.. Undecided

Are you just looking for general PWM because I made note of that in the second post of the Group Buy Interest thread: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/6152

It should be 800Hz

Well, that's what he told me personally when I was grilling him about the improvements to the DRY so I could add it to the thread.

Sure, he could have provided some more info to this upgraded DRY but then I was the one who initiated all this and pressured him to do it. He isn't even really advertising an "updated" DRY all that much. He's content with linking to the already listed product and I guess I don't see any problem with that.

Depends on the use, personally for me yes. The light doesn't seem quite as bright (a none issue with 5a to 3 xml's!) but the colour rendering is far better I feel.

I'll be using it mountaineering so colour rendering can be a huge advantage.

There is absolutely no performance hit, i measured Ric's stuff/sources.  The NW used here is the T6 3C.  I also have the T4 5A3 4000k, that one has a performance hit of ~ 15% so i guess it's also one of the better ones.  I do no think they still have the 5A3, that tint is very nice for those who can appreciate NW.  5A3 is right smack in the black body radiator line in the chromacity charty.   3D is in that region as well, 3C is not.  But some folks just like 5000k better, but do know that really low modes have a small amount green tint, just that the approx 0.15A-0.2A drive of the low mode would not have this manifested.

Hi Ric. Thank you for confirming that the driver is set to 700Hz for both A and B versions.

I wasn't trying to be funny, it is just better to hear it 'from the horses mouth' so to speak!

Thanks again!

hi all, actually I have bought the 5A Dry with turbo before this group buy,but the tail cap current I measured with my DMM is only like 2.5amps.

Can any kind soul explain to me why is it not 5Amps as advertised?

Thankful.

Hello p0708,

Turbo mode is direct-drive. A fully-charged sanyo battery can pull it upto 4+Amps. Please make sure the battery you used didnot strict the current.

Hi Steve,

Bought this lens that's ultra clear with gasket to avoid the rattling as replacement lenses are thinner than what comes with the Dry (as recommended by another forum member in a previous post).  It's a bit pricey but to have cushion and better output is my way to justify more money into this hobby.

Holiday will last for 10 days.

DRY Group will end at this weekend.

Everyone will get the tracking number today. And can be able to track it online in 2-3 days.

Thanks

Cant wait to get mine... I'm so torn between version A and B .  I originally told him B then changed it to A...  I almost bought one of each but I'm so tight on funds right now...
