14500 battery brand recommendation

Hello, I’m looking for a couple brand recommendations for a 14500 protected battery. I found a few posts here, but they are from a couple years back. I’m looking for a quality cell.

I bought Keeppower. Works well, and it is close to the claimed 800mAh.

Are you looking for high drain or high capacity? Pick one.

Windyfire

More capacity - Vapcell (golden)1000mAh
High Drain - Efest IMR14500 650mAh Purple or the Windyfire above mentioned

Appreciate the recommendations. I would say high capacity for my needs. It may be good that I’m getting suggestions for high drain as well, in that someone else may be looking for that. Back in the olden days AW was the quality brand. I think I’ve had this battery since 2012, it was 750mAh.

Vapcell has the best batteries currently, both for capacity, the yellow 14500, and high drain, the blue 14500. The blue one has not been tested yet but I expect it to be as good or better than the purple Efest.

Vapcell does not have protection, if I am correct. OP asked for protected batteries.

Oops, missed that point! :person_facepalming:

Just found a Keeppower protected 1000mAh 14500 on nkon.nl. Must be a new one with the same cell inside as the Vappower 1000mAh battery. So if you are EU based this is where to get it:

But I’m sure they around elsewhere too.

Thanks for all the help. I started looking into the requirements for the light (Lumintop EDC05C) and it says “14500 Li-ion battery with anti-reverse, overcharge and over discharge protection” So I think based on that I can use an unprotected cell. I like the idea of the Gold VapCell with 1000 mAh as the largest capacity battery and most likely produce the longest runtime.

I bought two of the Vapcell gold 1000mah and they tested out at 1,000 mah so they are definitely legit. Vapcell also makes the best high capacity 14500 (recently released), which I haven’t bought yet but will do so once I get the Acebeam TK16.

are those 1600 mAh fenixs bad?

Are you talking about this

I presume, OP wants a 3.7V battery. This is a 1.5V battery.

It has 3.7V variant also, but its capacity is only the usual 800mAh.
